Kettle Cart - Build your own performer...

Thanks, Allen. Anybody know how the kettle is supported within the structure?

Why can't I master the minion on a kettle?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Only thing I can think of is the coals on the top of the chimney might not be as hot as you think, and the side that gets the coals first is the one not catching...

Kettle Cart - Build your own performer...

Can anybody post an up-to-date to these plans? This link is dead, and I can't seem to find the plans that sound like what is described here.

    Plans for WSM caddy

Did the plans call for that? I wonder how that will work since pressure-treated lumber is bad for warping as it continues to dry long after you buy it.

A better way to light off your Chimney

The old girl scout method is to use dryer lint. Pack as much lint into the egg cups as you can fit (it'll be a lot). They burn great. In fact, I've started a chimney, extinguished the remaining starter, and used it again. However, I discovered that the Weber firestarters cost less per unit...

Better sealing for better temp control

I understand that the ceramic cookers use some sort of felt as a seal. Has anyone tried to locate some of this high-temperature felt and attempt to use it on the WSM?

    ABT'S my version

What smoke wood are people using when only making the ABT's? The local (to me) New Mexico Hatch chile is supposed to be similar to an Anaheim. I have some bags frozen in the freezer. Maybe I'll try some as ABT's.

    F.Y.I. Smoke Wood...

You lucky rascal! The next time the hurricanes knock over trees in my brother-in-law's yard, I'm going to help myself to some of it. (My lot only has two oaks and two palms, and the oaks aren't big enough to do anything with if they did blow over.)

When You're Smokin' What are You Drinkin' and Listening to?

Caffeine-Free Diet Sam's Cola. I seem to have learned to appreciate silence. Or at least don't feel the need to add to the ambient sound level. Of course, I'm new at all this. If I need music to barbecue, I guess I'll also need to go out and get...err...one of those things that you play...

    Fatties

New guy here. I just recently found a post asking and answering the same question I had - "What's a fatty?" Well, I know now, but tell me how you're stuffing them. Do you just try to shove the stuffings down the center of the sausage and try to keep the overall shape intact? Or are you...

    Infrared Thermometers

I just got the TN-1 on the Thermoworks specials page for $19. It appears to be the exact one I got for my brother for Christmas two years ago from Cole-Parmer for twice the price but under a different name. It's probably all I'll need as a home chef. As Rusty said, it's handy for checking the...

I could not find any Weber Firestarter cubes at any HD in San Diego.

My wife, when a girl scout, learned to make fire starters using fiber egg cartons packed with lint, soaked in melted wax and broken apart. These things are effective and burn an awfully long time. However, I seem to recall pricing the wax vs. buying the Weber starters at Publix (not known for...
