    A friend of mine got my directions for brisket mixed up and smoked the brisket after slow cooking it in the oven. Came out great. Nobody could tell the difference. Just an option you might consider.

    We had one every year for Christmas when I was growing up. I preferred it over the turkey and ham. My grandma must have known the secret. Unfortunately, it was not passed down.

    Hopefully you have better luck than we did with the Jennie O birds. Tried them twice and they didn't measure up to Butterball in taste or texture.

    I've done low and slow on turkey with good results. I learned that the bird tastes the same with hot and fast and uses much less energy; both the heat energy and my energy.

    Krispy turkey skin

    I've fried, smoked and roasted. My favorite was injected, smoked for about two hours and then fried. The bird got rave reviews.
