    Brats and Ribs

Normally I boil my Brats in beer and onion and finish them off on the grill. I was not impressed with them on the WSM - I just threw them on without boiling them first. The ribs were great though.

    Brats and Ribs

Going to throw some spareribs on in awhile. Planning for 7-9 hours. My question is how long are the Brats going to take? (they are Johnsonville - seems like that is the only brand I can find). Also, I am probably going to put some beans on. I am figuring 3-4 hours before the ribs are done...

    Something Different on Father's Day

On the smoker? Sorry I should have clarified myself, I was thinking of something different to put on the smoker with the ribs and beans.

    Something Different on Father's Day

FIrst, let me say how much I appreciate everyone's advice especially during my first overnighter. With Father's day on Sunday, I am going to smoke some ribs. I was thinking of doing a brisket, but I know how lightly I slept during my first butt and do not want to be red eyed all day on Sunday...

    Brinkman Water Pan

I was thinking, if the diameters are the same, and if the water pan held slightly less volume, would this help with the clearance problem with wood chunks. Obviously the only way this would help is if the depth was reduced. My smoker had been going for well over seven hours and it still has...

    Brinkman Water Pan

Apparantly they can't. I was too curious to let the WSM cool down, so I put on some BBQ gloves and measured - exactly 15". As I said earlier mine is an older model, they might have changed. Or the charcoal pan holds a larger volume. Or they are charging a $1 more for the same product...

    Brinkman Water Pan

I looked on their website and the porcelain-coated charcaol pan is 15 1/2" - I am assuming that is the diameter. The water pan is 13 1/2". I used the water pan today and it seemed to fit fine. After the WSM cools down I will go and check how much play is there and if it could fall off because...

    Brinkman Water Pan

I am using my Brinkman water pan right now. The charcoal pan has slits and holes in it, plus, by just looking at it, it would be too wide to use. My Brinkman is probably 3-4 years old so they might have changed them. The water pan off of mine fit perfectly onto the WSM.
