    Minion Methods ???

Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. --Larry The Cable Guy Brady, Love that quote from Larry, never heard it before! Steve

Attempting first kettle smoke on Saturday.

Yes, patience and mistakes are definitely part of the process, but trust me, we learn from our mistakes, and the mistakes of others. Feel free to share your successes as well as things that don't go so well. When things come out good, it's well worth the work. But when it doesn't, we just get...

Attempting first kettle smoke on Saturday.

Do a few smokes on your kettle, and you will want to buy a WSM. I did 3 butts on my kettle (Not all at the same time), and after reading up about how easy the WSM is to use, I ran out and bought one. Good luck with your smoke and let us know how it turns out. Take some pictures, too! Steve

    Tri tip roasts

I love tri-tip. I bought a twin-pack at Costco a few weeks ago and did a high-heat cook and it came out awesome. A good meat to cook if you can find it at a decent price. Steve

    High temp BBQ

Lance, I've never cooked in anything over about 85-90 degrees here. My only suggestion would be start with less lit coals when using the Minion Method, and shut the bottom vents much sooner than under "normal" outdoor temps. Do you have access to a clay pot base? If not, maybe try filling the...

    Which Big Box Store?

I've never shopped at Sam's, so I can't comment on them, however, I've been a Costco member for many years, and have always been shopping there. Also, I second Kent Walker's comments about how Costco treats their employees. First rate company! Steve

    Prime Rib/ Boneless RIB Eye

Joe, I smoke it first then char it up. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Sounds like a winner to me. I'm doing a rib roast for my Mom and Dad on Christmas Day. Not prime, but our Safeway has a great Meat Department, and I've been very happy with Rancher's Reserve Meat. Happy Holidays to all. Steve
