How can I use my Weber Gourmet BBA Stuff on an 18" grill?

You can probably use them without the cutout, but some (like the wok) may not clear the lid. Not sure I'd really bother, depending on which accessories you are planning on using.

Free Sample Bag of Weber Charcoal

My email said it was because I had a registered grill.

    Free sample of Weber briquettes

Agreed. I like the Weber stuff (bought a bag for fun), but it's not 4x better than KBB on sale. If they can get the price down to something more reasonable (no more than $15/bag), then I'll consider using it more. I get that they see it as a premium product, and I'm willing to see it as such...

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

Yup, already put in for mine. I like the Weber charcoal. Like other pure hardwood, it burns hot, but with the larger briquettes you keep a lot of burn time. Unlike Kingsford Professional, it will also burn low and slow (K-P just wants to go hot and fast for me). I like KBB, but I do think the...

    Sides for Dummies

My go-to side is roasted potatoes and carrots. Wash some potatoes like you'll bake them, but cut them into chunks. Then mix them with some baby carrots, toss them in some olive oil, then sprinkle on seasoning (my wife loves the Weber Roasted Garlic & Herb seasoning). Then just put them in a...

    What's in your backyard?

My favorite might well be the Summit Charcoal. I'm still getting used to it, but it's as flexible a grill as they come. It will run low and slow for a long time, it will run hot and fast (had it up to near-thermonuclear last night for some steaks). I could live with JUST that grill, but I'm so...

Classic Thermapen Only $59! Lowest Price Ever!

Easily worth the money. I've used cheap ones, I've used cheaper (but not quite cheap) ones. I have a Mk 4, and it is truly incredible. If I didn't have that, I'd be jumping on this deal- that's a great price. I'm tempted to grab one anyway for my father... Father's Day IS coming up, even if it's...

    What's in your backyard?

Most of us here have something of a collection of grills- smoker, kettle, maybe a gasser as well. I'm wondering "Hey, he writes these grilling cookbooks, what does Jamie have at his disposal for cooking?" I'm also curious as to which ones (assuming you have more than one) you use for particular...

    Kingsford Original 2-Pack 18.6lb $12.99 at Lowe's Spring Black Friday 3/30 - 4/5/17

Facebook has indicated that Home Depot will be running the same thing (2x18.6lb KBB) for $10 this weekend. That's a shade cheaper than the Lowe's price. I think it's supposed to start tomorrow, so I'll have a look then.

Weber Summit s-470 or Genesis LX II S-440

T'were it me, I'd get the S-470. For me, the built in rotisserie with burner and the smoker box make it a no-brainer. I throw smoke into just about everything I grill- having a built in smoker box would be nice, and that rotisserie might not be a "use every week" kind of thing, but that...

    Looking To Expand The Family

The new burners on the Genesis II models are very interesting... all reports are that it's a very evenly heated grill surface. But really, either of those two units should work fine for you. Pick up a smoker box so you can throw some chips in there and add smoke to what you make and you'll...

    igrill 3

I don't know that I'd go with the 3 if you plan to use the smoker. I would, however, recommend you look at the iGrill 2. That one works well with any grill and Weber is still selling it. As for whether it's superior to the Smoke or the Maverick is up to the buyer, but I like mine.

    igrill 3

From what it looks like, the iGrill 3 attaches to the Genesis II at that particular spot on the right side table. There's a lead running to the propane tank holder so it can tell you how much fuel you have. Beyond that, it looks like it works just like the iGrill 2- you insert the probes into...

    Few WSC questions

I did ribs on mine a week ago. I had no problem keeping temps in the mid-200s for an entire afternoon. I used 2 scoops of charcoal (used the Weber charcoal to try it out... not bad). Lower grate position, plate in place, foil pan with some water on the diffuser. I had the lower damper closed...

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Summit Charcoal Grilling Center - New for 2016

Well, I done did it. I had some extra cash from teaching this semester (I do some adjuncting at a local college) without any place it was needed. After doing a cook on my 22" WSM in December that was just rough (turned out well, it just ate a bag and a half of Kingsford and fought me the...

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

That's standard for any big name brand. Weber doesn't just sell grills, they see themselves as a lifestyle brand. Such brands charge a premium for anything with their name on it. Doesn't matter if it's Weber, BGE, Apple, Lexus, or anything else. Slapping their name on it will take the price up a...

    Summit Charcoal - next version?

I can't imagine they'd raise the price, it's spendy enough. I can't see them lowering the price without de-contenting it either. It's still new and they certainly invested a bunch into developing it, they won't drop it. Especially since those who bought one seem to be pleased with it. The only...

    Help choosing size

I have a 22. It lives up to its reputation as a fuel hog. Yeah, I can cook anything on it without slicing it up, but it's really large and takes a lot of charcoal. It's so big and so hungry I tend to be reluctant to fire it up. For doing mostly one butt at a time, get a 14. I'm regretting not...
