Let's see you early 90's performer mods

Sourced a bunch of parts for a 2000 modernization. New tank, ss bolts, ss grates top and bottom, new style ash catcher, fresh paint and new wheels all around. Might get around to putting it all together this fall or next spring.

    Winterizing cast iron cooking grate

Cook some bacon in it and don't clean up. Or simply hang it on a nail in shed or in garage if not using

Weber Charcoal Briquettes 25% off at Lowe's San Jose

It's better charcoal. Just too expensive. 15 should of been normal price. Kingsford is King at home shopping stores. Sells on brand recognition

    2011 Genesis Heat Deflector Replacement

Ask rcplanebuyer. He might make them. He does make a similar looking heat deflector/flame tamer for go anywhere grills.

    Griddle?

I went with lodge because I didn't want porcelain enameled (I like seasoning the cat iron) and also didn't want a drain hole.

    Midwest Stainless Grates Genesis

Good find. Rcplanebuyers in eBay are 9mm - 3/8 inch but cost more.

    EO Performer

I'm sure there are some suggestions here if you search. A guy built a 26 performer but he welds.the hardest part will be getting brackets that fit. https://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?69600-My-26-quot-Performer Quick Google search found this guys idea. Cannibalized existing brackets...

    EO Performer

Depends how much you want to restore. I know older one touch had different Ash catcher mounts and not sure about the sweeper. Amazon has the new sweepers. The bowl is probably the hardest to rehab. You can always find a free black donor kettle bowls that you'll have to bolt up somehow. If you...

I Hate Meeces To Pieces. And Rats, Too.

I can't tell if you're using the word rat and mouse interchangeably. I'm in the bay area too and it's just small tiny mice I have to worry about time to time. NONE of the traps worked except for one type. It was the only one sensitive enough for super small mice. I bought the newer black ones...

Need help with new ash catcher

I have an extra one of those grips for cast iron pan. I might slip on that jimmy hat when I install my new ash catcher in the next few weeks.

    Thrift Store Finds

Not sure what you did there. I use Google too. I steal the source picture url from the "share link" in a private (incognito window) to ensure it's a public viewable pic.

    Smash Burger Utensil

I hate to admit this hipster thing I signed up for 3 months ago. I got this box on Friday and used them all for a smashburger session this Sunday. - This spatula made things easier because it's quite sharp and angled at the bottom. It's also very thick and does not flex too much which made it...

    Smash Burger Utensil

I've only recently discovered smash burgers and I love em. Maybe they are hipster. I donno. I like how the meat n cheese fuse together better.

Genesis II E-410 SE vs S-330

I have ep330 (older) and the stainless is 430 but thicker and sturdy. I'm in California on inside of SF Bay and keep covered. Only surface rust when sauces and dust gets wet from fog. The new ss may be 304 but it's thinner and support for shelves seem less sturdy

    Thermoset Tables

I guess I'm from the new school. The only thing I ever print is resumes to markup when interviewing applicants.

    Genesis E310 side controls (2008)

In my north/south Genesis ive never had a fire in the grease collection slide out tray. HOWEVER those heat shields can catch fire since they're close to burners. Every 10 cooks I just scrape any debree into the tray from the top.
