    Engineering Challenge - Mini WSM

Call weber and order all the parts for the 1880, they may not make the smoker any more but I would but the odds at 50 / 50 all the parts can be purchased and then you just assemble it yourself. THis would be what people do to get the 26" Weber kettle. To make a center section just have a fab...

    Smoke stains on hood

Usually with all grills when things get good and greasy the lid will seal better. I suspect that may be what weber is refering to. If you have a noticable air leak / gap and you feel it shouldnt be there I would advise you give Weber a shout and see what they have to say. They are the best in...

SMOKEY JOE PLATINUM AIR FLOW PROBLEM

Yup, I always use a good 3/4 to full chimney for the little guy and the temps really get high. With the portable, I only use it for camping and tailgating where you never know when someone will be hungry. I spark it up for breakfast and it is usually still hot for brats at lunch.

    Need some dumb advice

I always toss a chunk of wood (pecan) in with my Kingsford when I make steaks. Seems to give a more unique flavor.

    Cooker too cold!

Do you have your water pan sitting on the charcoal ring? That could cause (and has caused) what you describe.

    New Kingsford Sucks!

I sent a letter to Kingsford detailing my objections to the new product. The response I got was one of sincerity and they seemed like they were working something out. I basically compared the Kingsford situation to the Coke situation in the 80s. ANyone else remember "New Coke"? boy was that...

    New Kingsford Sucks!

I have my stash of old as well. 320 pounds and still have about 15 pounds of the new junk. I know Sams Club carries Duraflame fireplace logs. I am going to go try and convince my Sams manager to get the Duraflame briquets. A little known fact if if you tell a Sams manager you can get an item...

    New Kingsford Sucks!

    New Kingsford Sucks!

New stuff worked fine for steaks. Got a 2 pack of 21 pounders at Sams. It is BS that it burns longer though, they just wanted to make the bags smaller I suspect.

    New Kingsford Sucks!

If the "Kingsford Clissic" is still available I will be more than willing to keep a supply of old and new on hand. Dont forget about running your good ole kettle, quick hot burns for steak is priceless. Perhaps it will function well in an un-modified Platinum Smokey Joe? Classic for the...

TO prevent an accident I use the 4 of the 18" patio pavers... see picture here Safe Smoker Seems to work fine for me. It is about minimizing your percieved risk, if your not...
