    New Stoker Owner...

mine didn't come calibrated and was WAY off - like +- 15 degrees or so. It screwed up my butts and brisket for the 2008 season. My second places were on a Guru unit and my 5th and 6th were from natural draft. I have everything in check now and will have StokerLog on board at the comps...

    First Cook with DigiQ

You need to get your unit up to temp before you turn the ATC on. Assuming you are using a WSM use a FULL WEBER chimney to start. The cheaper chimneys are smaller than a weber. (This costed me $50K in another contest) For ribs I usually top a fully lit chimney with another full load of unlit...

    New Stoker Owner...

good point. I never go above 250. When I grill I just use my weber kettle with no temp control other than the natural draft.

    New Stoker Owner...

a 10 CFM fan is really overkill on even a 22 inch WSM. Stoker will adapt to it but a 10 CFM fan is really for bigger units like a Stumps or Backwoods. -rob

Diff btw Stoker and Guru probes and possibilities for modification

You are really over thinking this. For the most part if you could make your own probes you might save $10. Compared to the overall price it's really negligible. If you foil your probes properly it does not matter. If you want something simple consider this DIY unit I made myself...

    CyberQII manual is released

http://www.thebbqguru.com/PDFs...r_v1.05_firmware.pdf User Guide: http://www.thebbqguru.com/PDFs...r_guide_Rev_1.05.pdf WOW - looks like they are sharing the source code for their C# application - interesting. See the last page of the user guide. As we suspected - the ability to control it...

    Replacement probes

Matt, While you are researching which ATC system to purchase (Stoker or CyberQII) you are going to want to check out this thread: http://tvwbb.infopop.cc/eve/fo...0072103/m/2780050295 Also, the best documentation I've seen on the CyberQII can be found on the guru forum here...

    Stoker grommets question

Matt, Stoker probes can be used with Guru eyelets. That's what I use. -rob

    Extending length of stoker probes

Pat, I would not do this. The wire is very specifically designed for high heat. The orange insulation is silicon. I've been looking to find some silicon insulation but cannot find a source. -rob

    Guru and 22.5 WSM

there is a whole thread on this topic complete with pics: http://tvwbb.infopop.cc/eve/fo...270072103/m/34210204 Although it's for a Stoker unit my mount works for both.

Stoker Extension Cables: Mono or Stereo Cables? Which one?

Looks like 3 conductor in the picture I took. I'll confirm when I get home

    New stoker setup

Joe, You can still use Amir's program on your local network. All you need to know is the IP address of your stoker. His program is awesome. Quite frankly, I find little use for exposing my stoker outside my network as I am always home when I'm running my pit anyway. Also, you'll need to...

    New stoker setup

the manual for your router is here: http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?e...&downloadType=8&os=0 The good news is it supports port mapping with it's "Virtual Server" configuration on page 98. Now you just need to figure out if your ISP blocks port 80 on their end.

    New stoker setup

appears your router is not a popular choice for 3rd party software: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/v...c912ca449b546144a11e

    New stoker setup

no but it's a start. You need to do 2 things: Your router acts like a hardware firewall blocking computer from the internet from initiating a connection on the computers on your network. You need to forward HTTP requests on the outside to the IP address of your stoker. Find the IP address of...

    Stokerlog Version 5 (final)

I would have just taken the drive out and copied the data using an IDE -> USB cable. Write that laptop off and get another. For $700 you can get a pretty nice machine. Thanks for the update. I will install ASAP. -rob

    New stoker setup

You are a little ahead of yourself. At this point we are assuming you have not even installed StokerLog but have the router setup and your computer is connected to the router and you have no stoker yet. Your next step after getting the stoker is plugging it into the router and getting to the...

    New stoker setup

Is your router already in place? I assume it has a few wired ports in the back. Most have 4. One of the first things I did was to just connect the stoker to the router's wired connection and turn it on. Then you can find its IP address and use your computer to get to the Stoker's web server. -rob
