    Soldering Tips-n-Tricks

I do similar, I also believe that you shouldn't get cheap solder wick. I used to get the cheap stuff and once I bought a good sized roll of Chem-wick, I'll never get cheap wick again. That stuff will pick up every trace of solder very quickly.

    Soldering Tips-n-Tricks

Don't use a pointed tip, use a small screw driver tip. That will transfer more heat to the pad and solder quicker. I have two of these and they work great, but I really like that USB magnifier. My kid would love that also. https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B01C4P1NTU/tvwb-20

It's much easier to load the rack out and then in, as yo don't leave the door open very long. Also, I was doing all this by myself, as my wife was working,. I had the chicken in the kitchen in a good sized container, staying cool in ice. So every 10 minutes or so I put in rack. Ideally I...

Oh, I had it crammed in there average about 30 quarters per rack and the bottom rack was done before the top rack, but I also put those in first. I should have started with the top rack and worked down instead of up. But this was a learning thing.

I will try to remember to post some pics. Let's just say I was able to get all 120 pounds of chicken into the smoker at the same time, except for 15 pieces of chicken. I do have the pics on a Facebook heatermeter page.

Looks good. If I had to do over I would have used support material where the fan goes into the part. But, it was still functional as is and the top was flat. Not bad for being the first print after my 3d printer sat in the garage all winter.

I am starting to print more and more PET cases. So easy to print after you have it set up correctly. I'm actually using a .2 nozzle ATM. But mostly print with a .3 nozzle.

If everything goes correctly, then you should be able to watch it being printed. I have not had my printer on in a couple of month and had some false starts. http://myuds.servebeer.com/#control

I think it could be that the volume that needs to heat up is fairly large. I found out tonight I can smoke around 50+ pounds of wings at time. I had 10 pounds on one of my racks. I had a hell of time to get it up to 300°. My 28cfm blower was on maximum. Usually, once it gets to set point...

My wife wanted me to say that i had a nagging wife constantly complaining i was working on it too much, lol. If you have all the parts precut, then it won't take that long. The longest part I thought was the transition from making the frame to doing the interior and exterior. I also had to...

A lot of hours spent welding and grinding. Winter months probably best for getting it together and spring and summer for painting. I would get home from work around midnight and then I would spend a couple hours welding and around noon I would do some welding and mostly grinding and repeat...
