The handle on my performer gets hot.

I did pull the gloves out yesterday, but I was hoping for a better solution.

The handle on my performer gets hot.

I've used my new to me Performer twice now and noticed the handle gets very hot. Is there a way to protect it from the heat so I don't burn my hand?

Thanks for the info on the adapter and tank setup. I'll look into that after I get the grill home.

Think I just scored a good deal

Thanks Rich. It looks good in the pics, so I'm hoping it's ok. They said it needs a good cleaning, but that's it. I'm paying asking price because I didn't want to lose it.

Think I just scored a good deal

I've been looking for a used Performer for a while now to replace our old Brinkmann gasser and one popped up on CL today. It's a 15501001 model with Touch-N-Go gas ignition, but they had it listed as a 15401001 model. I'm suppose to pick it up tomorrow after work. It looks like its in great...

    New 14.5 Weber Smokey Mountain!

I paid less then retail for my 14" WSM at Walmart. I registered mine online and didn't have a problem getting a part covered under warranty. As a matter of fact they sent me a second part when the first one didn't arrive when it was suppose to.

    New mini wont get hot?

Take the side thermo out and put a screw and nut in the hole. Only other thing I can think of is the flower pot base is to big and restricting air flow. I had to go to a smaller one.

    New mini wont get hot?

Did you cut the bottom of the pot out, or just drill holes in it? I've built 2 mini's and cut the bottom out of both. Never a problem getting the temps up.

Finally found a use for the water pan out of my 18.5" WSM

I bought the mid section of a 14" WSM off of Luke from this forum, put it on the base of a Smokey Joe I had and tried the water pan from my 18.5" WSM I had sitting around in my garage to see how it would fit. I think it's going to work great. Just have to add the vent and handle and it's done...

    Mini WSM build advice

Are you sure you are going to use a Jumbo Joe? The 32qt pot is way too small for the Jumbo. The 32qt pot fits the Smokey Joe Gold and Silver.

    Feeling a little guilty

I bought two not long ago. Got one for $50 and the second for $25 because it had surface rust on it.
