New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

I started the rehab on the Platinum to get it ready to flip. I brought in a couple of assistants to help with the work. One handles the metal work while the other stresses how important clean shop is. I'm hoping to knock out painting today and get it reassembled tomorrow so I can start...

    Genesis Silver B Rehab underway.

The one for the Platinum C I picked up is $160. I have a much better condition one from my Silver C, but there are some differences, so it's not an easy replacement.

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

Parts have been ordered! Flavorizer bars Burners Igniter Kit Rotisserie rod and forks Orifices and regulator hose have been ordered as well. Now I just need to determine if I want to repaint the beast. It's heavy pollen here, so that is a contributing factor. The cabinet would get a...

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

The grill used propane with NG orifices, so the burners got a lot more gas than they needed. One of them burnt out at the point where the crossover tube connects and another one looks like it could go that way soon. The flames even burned through the flavorizer bars. I figure replacing all the...

Genesis II E-410 SE vs S-330

The prices of the new grills pointed me towards getting an older model and cleaning it up. For a couple hundred dollars, I'll end up with a grill as good as, or better than the current ones. Plus, they will last as long.

New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

I used a product from my detailing arsenal. It is Poorboy's All Purpose Cleaner and Degreaser. It is from www.poorboysworld.com. Companies like Autogeek also carry it. I used it full strength, but it does dilute well for lighter jobs.

    Another ng to lp question

No, you will need the orifices. I am converting a Summit Gold D6 and in the same position. Try these guys - http://www.grill-repair.com/

New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

I am going to combine my current Genesis Silver C with this grill to make one solid Platinum grill. The paint on the top edge of the left side panel is flaking off due to rust. I will use the bottom tray/panel fro my Silver C to replace the rusted one as it is in much better shape. I will find a...

Weber Genesis Serial not listed on Weber.com

I can't help with the serial number. Maybe the guy gave you the wrong one. A lot of the old Weber information and reviews, etc is still floating around the internet, so a Google search will probably give you a ton of information. I've had a 2004 Genesis Silver C since new. It's a three burner...

    Maintenance for a Weber Genesis?

I know Weber says it isn't need, but if there is paint on something in this house, it gets a coat of a wax or sealant.

New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

A new floorpan is around $150. I'll leave that up to the next guy. I hope to list it by the weekend to free up the garage space.

New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

A 45 minute drive each way and I came home with the grill. My three year old daughter says "Daddy has lots of grills" when asked what she did today. It was a mess for sure, but for $50, I couldn't say no. I gave it a good cleaning, but not a full detail. As Purchased: A bit dirty: And...

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

When I called grill-repair, that is what they told me as well. His belief was that my Summit (2004) used the same orifice on all the burners and that I needed to confirm it physically. I haven't had the time yet. A call to Weber gave me the prices for the other parts I need. I'm up to $400 in...

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

That is the website I found yesterday afternoon. I'll try to give them a call today to get a plan and see what the other replacement parts (burners/flavorizer bars) also cost.

New decade old Summit vs. New Genesis/Genesis II

I am meeting the guy this afternoon to bring it home. It will be interesting to see for sure. I'll post some before and after pictures. I may not get time to actually clean it until Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
