Going for it....Tel-tru
Just intalled one with 4" stem.Did not use the insatll kit. Used a bushing and nut to mount it. It only cost about 2 bucks a hd. Used a number 5 unibit(that's what had at home) used duct tape where I drilled. It only took about 10 minutes to install if that. Mike- Mike H.

Tru tel installation
Going to be getting tru-tel temp guages soon. From what I have read it seems like most people put them in the lids. Is there a reason not to put them just above or just below the cooking grates? Or am I missing somthing??? Thanks Mike- Mike H.
