First Cook on my WSM 1880

Gave it a test drive today and it passed with flying colors. The thighs took 1 1/2 and the temp held steady at between 255 and 270. Had to re-fill the water bowl once. Decided to just let it run after the thighs were done. Ran for 8 hrs with a full basket but I had to shut it down to go to...

Tim, Yes, I painted over the original paint. Just make sure it is clean. I gave it 3 heavy coats and have had no problems. Thanks for the compliments also.

I did the Lid and the Thermo when it was new out of the box. Found some 1200 deg. High Temp Spray Paint at HD. I put 4 coats on. So far it's been great, no chipping or fadeing and it's always covered outside.

    CL Performer (EZ)

Thanks, I've been waiting for one of these for about 5 years. If I were to rate it I'd say 8.5 out of 10. No rust except for the one touch cleaning system which I already ordered from Weber and one small ding on the lid. Used 0000 steel wool to buff out. Really cleaned up nice. Can't wait...
