BTW - I purchased mine from a gas tech who had found it in a barn and restored it. He offered to size the orifices for natural gas when I purchased it but as I didn't have a gas line to my deck ready, I passed so its probably a safe bet that the valves are CV.

Going back to post #10 and 12 on this thread, it looks like you determined these are CV valves. I haven't pulled mine apart yet but that would be a wise first step. My drill press is nothing like the one you reference so it looks like hand drilling is the way to go. Not sure I could buy reams...

I'm finally getting around to converting my 56" LP Vieluxe to NG and have some questions I'm hoping members can help me with. Vieluxe specified a 4.5 WC regular for the NG grills. The main burners are each rated at 12,500 BTU/hr. I reference the chart and see that I should use a #50 drill size...

That grill looks brand new, Ryan! Did you do anything to bring the luster back on the black trim parts? Mine are kind of faded.

That would probably be a good idea Ryan. Apparently he had a lot of issues with the warping and didn't even want to make any more until he figured out the issue. This appears to have done the trick as I've used mine quite a bit already without issue. I received the Weber #60428 burner tubes...

Ha. That's pretty funny. Do you want to trade? LOL. I only use mine for tailgating and its stored in my basement most of the time. I just like the battery powered igniters on my big gasser. I'm just wondering if it is doable with the weber parts or if someone sells a conversion kit.

I have an old Weber Baby Q 386002 Q100 with the manual push button igniter that I purchased new in 2011. Is it possible to swap this out for the battery powered igniter like that found on the post 2013 models? Thanks.

According to Weber and grillparts.com the Weber 60428 burners are 21" long. It might be worth a shot if I get Weber to cover the return shipping again. Did any of those early models have a smoker burner? The Vieluxe does and it the prior owner said they were replaced as a set.

Don’t need them yet as they are in decent shape now. I replaced the crossover tubes (which is one of the rare parts I’ve been able to locate for the Vieluxe) as they were breached. I just know they’ll need to be replaced in a few years and likely a couple more times while I own it.

Thanks - I appreciate it. I actually ordered Weber part number 85663 for the 2000-2006 Summit Gold/Platinum D without pulling my tubes to measure. They are 20-5/8” long though, not the 21.5” i need. To their credit, Weber paid return shipping and took them back without issue.

Question: My burner tubes are in good shape but I can't find replacements. There are 6 main burners - left and right plus the smoker burner. All are 21.5" long. The previous owner said he got burner tubes for (he thinks) a Summit model but I can't find any that had burners that long. Does...

I got my new parts Friday and they are just perfect. Pictured with the new flavorizor bars first and with the smoker tubes second.

Yeah - I tend to be more than a little OCD about these things. Once I get an estimate on the re-coating I can make a decision on whether I can ignore the imperfections or not.

This photo actually provided the solution to the warping issue on Rcplanebuyer's reproductions. The center bar is only welded on one end. I pointed this out to Dave and he is making mine like the originals.
