Genesis 1000 Circa 19923Won't Stay Lit

Fire requires fuel & air in the correct ratios, and a spark to start. It sounds like you have the spark. Do you hear or smell gas flowing after the fire goes out? Describe the flame... Blue and healthy? Or yellow and weak? Have you tried a new propane tank? Even if it has fuel, the...

    CI - which side up?

Flat side up for two reasons. First, it supports the meat better, keeping it from sinking down into the crevasses where it can stick and be difficult to turn. This is more important with softer food. Second, with the points facing down grease drips off easier. It tends to spread out on the...

The Big Lie of supermarket brisket

Concur! The supermarket meat departments are deplorable; not a meatcutter in sight just clerks that put out the meat shipped in from the "central facility" wherever that is. And so much is from foreign sources it is just amazing. Until recently we had an excellent independent meat market...

    Annual Target clearance

I was in the Ventura, CA Target (Main Street) today and while some of the house-brand accessories were on sale, the Weber kettles were *not* marked down. They had an open-box Jumbo Joe on the shelf; it wasn't marked down but I presume it would go for a reduced price if a buyer asked about...

    Super Jumbo

With the legs shortened the grill would seem to be a lot less stable... Did you notice any tippyness? Be carefull with that, especially if there are kids around. Knocking the grill over could really ruin your day. Weber dealt with that on their small grills with different leg designs; you...

    EP 330 not lighting

I think there may be some service instructions on the Weber site... IIRC the fault is usually at the spark gap... Take a look and confirm the electrode hasn't been bent and the gap is clear of crud. Next clean both sides of the gap with alcohol. If that fails... Probably time for new...

    Kettle gasket

Just thinking... Could you fill the underside of the sweeper with wadded-up alum foil or other non-combustible to get better sweeping action? I've never seen one apart so not sure what the underside looks like...

Best gas grill for the Elderly?

Why not take them to the store and see what they think about the lid-opening and mobility issues? Involving them in the decision is likely to lead to the best outcome... Just my $0.02

Jake's New Gasser, Broil King Baron 4 Burner

My mom and dad had a Broil-Mate gasser for many years -- I believe it was made by Broil-King. It gave them very good service and was a good value. My only complaint about the grill was the burner valves had a very small amount of twist between Max and Min... which made temp setting a...

Weber Stainless Steel Grate price increase!

Ok, now I understand. But it is hard to tell from reading this thread exactly what the grills in question look like, or what grill they fit. So maybe a better description would be helpful?

Weber Stainless Steel Grate price increase!

Hey Pete- That link comes up as dead for me here in the USA too. Curiously, though, the top line of the error page that displays when I click it calls it an "enclosed ash catcher" not a grate so I'm wondering if something got honked up. Have you tried aftermarket parts suppliers or Amazon...

Weber Summit S-470 LP Flames issue

Google is your friend for things like this... http://www.appliance411.com/faq/gas_range_flames.shtml Here is a short quote, but go to the site and go through their whole sequence. ------------------ Flame is yellow and/or causing sooting on cooking utensils. Possible Cause...

Do either of these griddles fit?

Hi Shaun- Sorry I can't help you with the details since I don't own those items, but I thought I might make a couple suggestions. First, if you CALL Weber customer support they may be able to give you exact griddle dimensions. If you email they will probably just give you the numbers off of...

Interesting... I've never been to a BBQ competition and this is doable for me in a day, albeit a long day (I'm in Ventura). Have to put this on the calendar and see what salutes... -Tom in Ventura

    LP Gas Tank Empty/Full Decal

Does that scale work well enough to replace the decal? My experience with scale/pointer devices is they don't work very well, at least the one on my Spirit 310 doesn't. So... consider buying a pressure gage for the tank and leaving the pointer and decal off... My $0.02
