    Good Bye 320

Genuine thanks ChuckO for your views on the big Q. My Genesis 5000 I restored was acquired from a Weber fanatic who had 'gone over' to WeberQs, and had three of them. His wife put her foot down ("you have too mant grills- get rid of one") so he got rid of the 5000 (???????) as he was not using...

    Steak of the Month

Love Hanger steak. Our butcher does it as a special order for us, and sells it to us for the same price as mince (ground) beef, "as thats where we usually put it". Go figure.

    I'm a traitor.....

Thanks Robert-R, writing that post brought back a lot of powerful memories. Something more on the FT-400/600 from the Australian viewpoint http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?54346-Weber-Flat-Top-ad-from-Australia

    Wood Grilled Utah Lamb

I think it is a case of 'cellar palate'. Here lamb is as common as steak or pork. You grow up eating it. It tastes like.....lamb. In the past it has been nearly all pasture fed, not lot fed, so that may be part of a stronger flavor, but I do not think of it as gamey at all. But it is what we...

    I'm a traitor.....

As was mine. Just playing the Weber zealot. The Weber griddle plates do not work well at all. I spent yesterday trying to clean up the greasy mess left in a Summit Platinum D4 where in typical aussie style the owner had the griddle plate fixed for 9 years on the RHS. It then gets used as the...

    I'm a traitor.....

To be honest, Weber has been in the game. A FT-600 or FT-400 is just the Summit of the period without a lid. You want to cook on a griddle, get the or a solid plate to fit your Weber gasser and just cook with the lid up, as have a lot of aussies for many years. Its that simple.

Pizza Kettle trial & error, maybe a victory!

Hi Clay, are you preparing the pizza on a cold CI Lodge tray, and then putting the Pizza (on top of the CI), on the heated stone to cook?
  14. Stephen R

Stainless vs Cast Iron Grill Grates

Absolutly SOLID, the only way to describe them. I am really happy with them. CI is good, these things are something else. And fairly easy to clean. Like Rich (thanks mate!), I could not believe how well they are made.

How to flip the grate inside a Weber Chimney?

Excellent Question! I would like to know as well please.

Some Cooks From a Stressful Week

Good lookin cooking as ever Rich & Barb. Glad to hear you passed your 'rego'check. Keep your eye out for a package from OZ, I found a new Weber toy for you to play with. It's probably the only Weber part we can buy here that you cannot get in the USA. Something for your 'no-fire' days...........

    Genesis Hood Dissasembly

Well you have the concept- but do not use primer on the firebox- doesn't work. Frame is OK, but not the firebox,,,,,

    Genesis Hood Dissasembly

The bolts I have removed on Genesis 1000-5500 series hoods are attached with a 'hollow' self threading sort of nut. If I cannot get them to undo, you can lever/cut them off fairly easily. But it does destroy them. You can get a replacment set of the same bolts/nuts from the parts suppliers, but...
