I would spend half that and get CI grates. The will last as long as you take care of them. We cook in CI skillets everyday in the house that are over 50 years old. I'm a fan of CI, though they do require maintenance. However, to my knowledge, they don't require $130.

I did it the hard way. I used degreasers(strong alkaline based cleaners) and scraped manually. Then I followed up with a pressure washer. The outside was sanded down rather easily. Next time, I am going to try sandblasting the tub inside and out. I also was told to try products like Carbon Off...
