Trying the Twitter enabled Stoker again...

Should the Twitter option be added to the Stokerlog instead?

    What's the Temp Control Gizmo?

There is also The Stoker http://rocksbarbque.com/ The main difference used to be that The Stoker can be connected to a network and you can access it/control it from the internet and graph cooks. Now the BBQ Guru people have a similar product called the CyberQ II. Go here for reviews...

    Stoker in business ?

He posted this on another site... "hmmm the phone was out of commission for about 4 hours today. We are still in business and in fact damn busy. We have started to ship new probes that include LEDS that indicate the alarm for that sensor (more sexy for people using multiple cookers and probes)...

sale on lazzari mequite lump and classic K in CA, cash and carry

John, do you need something special to shop there? Looks like you need to be a restaurant or non profit center to go there. If not I can see picking up a couple of 40s

    BGE Stoker Blower-how to mount?

Sounds like you may not have the adapter you need. Can you post pictures of what you are building? Btw, Rock has universal adapter for some smokers so I would investigate what Rob is recommending.

    stoker first try

I add the lit coals, add the food and then start the stoker. So the stoker brings the smoker with the food up to temperature. The way you did it should work once you get the open lid detect dialed in for your smoker. I believe Amir is using a ceramic too so default settings should be close for...

Help - need help with Linksys WGA11B

I got mine working and then would try it a few minutes later w/o changing anything and it would no longer work. With that said I recall two main issues. 1. I believe there is a bug in the wep key where you can only enter in the hex version of the key. 2. There is the switch on the side for...

Help - need help with Linksys WGA11B

That game adapter is a terrible product. I had 2 of them and then a 3rd due to a return and could only get it working from time to time. I got rid of them and bought a buffalo tech wireless Ethernet adaptor and have never had a problem since. My advice is to not use that product based on my...

What's your favorite BBQ resturant in Kansas City?

I just returned from KC and went to Gates and Arthur Bryant's while I was there. Past trips I've been to Jack Stack and OK Joes. Jack Stack has good quality food but is missing the atmosphere. I enjoyed OK Joe's and like that it is in the back of a gas station. Gates has great quality meat...

    Pictures of fan

The Stoker fan has the flap but the Guru fan doesn't. It has a slider that allows you to adjust the opening that the air can flow through but nothing closes when the fan stops. For your first pass you may want to build something that will just attach to your smoker and use the existing smoker...

    First Cook with DigiQ

Rob I'm curious why you suggest getting up to temperature before turning on the ATC. I always have the ATC bring the smoker up to temperature. As long as I have had the smoker vents closed more than the desired temp the ATC with fan is able to hit the desired temperature.

    First cook with stoker

Instead of wishing you had bought a guru, you can just use the stoker like a guru (meaning set it on the stoker interface on the unit and let it do the work). Btw I am lazy and get the lump lit, add the meat, close it up and let the stoker bring it up to temperature. The meat acts like a heat...

    Stoker battery power...

If 1 amp would work you can buy a 12v to 5v DC converter in a cigarette adapter confirguration for cheap. A google search turned 1 up for under $5.

    Fan stopped working...

I think the challenge is the 5 CFM is 5V and I think the 10 CFM is 12V and requires and additional power source. Perhaps you can find a 10 CFM that runs on 5V?

    Fan stopped working...

It could be the fan or something could have happened to the 1-wire chips (located in the plug). Good luck!

Simple and Cheap DIY system for under $20

Rob, This is great news! Even though I own a Stoker and a BBQ Guru I really want to build one of these as it sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to follow your lead for the circuit but have a lot of ideas on how to package the blower and circuit into a single package. When do you think you...

Simple and Cheap DIY system for under $20

I know the blower used for the Stoker is a 5 volt fan. It would be really cool if this circuit and blower could be setup to run off a 9 volt battery. If so, that blower housing could "house" the blower, circuit and 9 volt battery. Having a single wire to the probe would really make this a...
