At comps you can use a WiFi computer peer to peer or use a wireless router as J. Malte posted above. A WAN connection to the router is not required unless you want emails, tweets or to monitor on a SmartPhone. A router just makes it easier. BottomLine get a Stoker..

Just an update: Did some testing using a new setup with the Stoker controlling a Traeger Pellet Grill. With a target temp of 250° the temp range (high and low peak temps) after stablizing were 242-256. The temp was then raised to 275°; after stablizing it maintined a temp ranging of 268-283...

Arron, Just use a pit probe and set the alarms on it. I use the Stoker on a Traeger as well to monitor overnight cooks, graph the cook and the ambient tempertures. Works great. Billy

After each cook I do save an image of the graph and have saved zoomed in images for clarity and readability, but on more than one occasion after closing StokerLog I wanted to revisit the information. So I would say having StokerLog recreate the graph would be a great option.

What do you use to graph the data set collected by StokeLog after the cook? If you use Excel, would like to have copy of the template. This would be a feature to have StokerLog do. Store the data set and recall for future use. Just a thought.
