    Wal Mart close outs

I went there yesterday morning, and had a Go anywhere gas in my hands. I looked everywhere for a sale price, but didn't see one. Not listening to the wife to get a price check, and not wanting to pay 50 bucks I put it back. I came home and found this thread later in the evening. Yep I went...

    A quick lunch at work

Thanks. Today I went to Bingomart and found an On The Go Gas for $15 bucks. Not the best grill, but I can fire off dogs or burgers more often without the tell tail spent coal pile in the gravel.

    A quick lunch at work

This weekend we decided to do some Kielbasa and Sauerkraut for lunch at work. I loaded up the car with the basics. The SJ box is about six years old now, just don't have the heart to pitch it. We fired up the grill at about noon After about forty minutes we ate like kings. Stadium mustard and...

    Free sample of Weber briquettes

I must be the only one in NE Ohio to buy some. I got a bag for myself and one for my brother. It's one of those things I needed to try. So If the bag they send is a small one I'm going to keep it for looks.

    What's in your backyard?

For me it depends on how I'm cooking. Most of the time I'm using the Performer. I've come to love my 26" for sides, because cooking indirect it holds 2 10" CI skillets or Dutch Ovens without burning the sides. My 18" takes on the appetizer job, because I can fire it up early and have...

    Looking To Expand The Family

I love my Spirit 210. It holds temp very true, and can get hot enough to do anything you need. I also like the fold down wings and the four wheels.

    Grilled Thighs and Carrots

I'll bet those carrots were darn good. I'm going to have to try grilling carrots.

Second try smoking cheese, and I think I screwed up again.

I just wanted to let everyone know that after the cheese mellowed out my son gave it a try and we killed a lot more than we should with some good stout beer and crackers. He took the rest home with him, so I'm going to do more this week.

Throwdown #38: Show Us Some Love!

I'm adding my smoked cheese to the Throwdown #38: Show Us Some Love! The first time I smoked cheese it was a disaster. I let the smoker get to hot and let it smoke for four hours. Not good at all. This time I thought I did everything right, but when I took the cheese off the smoker it...

Second try smoking cheese, and I think I screwed up again.

Robert McGee How was the texture of the cheese after it was frozen? I'm planning on freezing a lot once I get the timing down.

Second try smoking cheese, and I think I screwed up again.

It's been a week since I smoked my cheese, and I had to give it a try. My fear was justified, because the cheese tasted like what I think a burnt manure spreader tire would taste like. I cut the outside edges off to see if that would help, but it didn't. I don't mind failure, it's the price...

    Hello from Michigan!

Welcome. I just read your post and am going to the freezer for some Brats. I haven't had them in a long time. Thanks for the dinner advice.

Second try smoking cheese, and I think I screwed up again.

Thanks for all the advice. I can't wait to try it again. This time I'm going to offset the tube, freeze the water and cut down on my smoking time.

Second try smoking cheese, and I think I screwed up again.

The other day I tried smoking cheese for the second time. I used my 18" WSM and the A-MAZE-N 12 in. Smoker Tube. I was going to use 2 cheddar, 1 extra sharp cheddar, 1 mozzarella, 1 swiss, and one long horn wedges. I filled the tube and got it lit just like the directions say. I put it in...

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

I'm hoping that with no one going nuts over paying 20 smacks a bag and it rotting on the vine Weber will wise up and drop the price. I am happy with the results, but the price is way over the top. I'd jump on Stubs but you just don't see it around here.

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

Bob I guess you are right about the smell. It was more campfire-ish, but as you can see in my picture there was a lot of smoke.

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

Tim They seemed to smell a lot like KBB, but both my wife and I smelled a hint of cherry every once in a while. I thought it was just me until she asked. I'll most likely stick with KBB while grilling, but I'll use the Weber next time I use the Bullet hoping to get a longer more even burn.

    My thoughts on Weber's Charcoal

Yesterday I opened up the wallet and after the moths flew out I pulled a twenty out and purchased a shiny new bag of Weber Charcoal. Right off the rip I thought that twenty bucks is a lot to pay for charcoal, but it said Weber, so I had to give it a try. The bag has a pull to open slot at...
