    Brisket Flat vs Point - What did I buy (w/ pics)?

    I feel your pain about getting whole briskets here in CT. Luckily I'm in Mass a few days each week (work in Bedford MA) and I found out that the Walmart Super Center in Plymouth (sister lives on the Cape) carries whole briskets so I'll be picking some up there next time I get a chance.

    I have a 11lb, 5 rib, Rib Roast I'll be cooking on the kettle Friday. Monday I'll then be smoking a couple of racks of spares, beans and a 9lb picnic.

    Mustard on BBR

    No difference in taste/texture assuming your using a basic yellow (Frenches) mustard. I've been painting my ribs w/ mustard for a long time with no problems what so ever. Probably the one benefit is if you like a lot of rub on your ribs this is the best way to accomplish that.

    Didn't matter what the weather was like today I was going to eat ribs. Snowed yesterday and its cold & windy today but that doesn't matter. Smoker ready to go. There are 4 of these racks. Big meaty ribs w/ total weight ~17lbs. Chugging away.
