    Are any Summit's worth it?

I've never owned a summit. But based on what I've read here I wouldn't take one if it was given to me. Your silver A is A wonderful grill. I have one. If you want a bigger grill i would look for a genesis 1000 or a silver B. I own a 1000 too and its not really better than the silver A but it...

    Ultimate grill cleaner?

Anyone else seen this "world's first automated grill cleaner"? LOL. Now I've seen everything. I think I'll stick with my chargon. https://grillbots.com

How do you keep Stainless Grates and Grille itself clean?

I'm an enthusiastic chargon user as well. The video below tells all about its advantages and shows it in action. There's no doubt a brush is slightly faster than a chargon. BUT on a normal sized 2 to 4 burner weber grill using the chargon to clean the grates literally takes 1-2 minutes...

    After cook cleaning

I do the same as you except no wire brush for me. Like Bruce i use the chargon tool after turning the grill on high for a few minutes. The chargon tool takes slightly longer. But works better (IMO) and will last many more years than any brush.

    Silver B grates

My favorites are the Bbqparts stainless steel rod grates. Thats what I have on my genesis silver A. See link below. https://www.bbqparts.com/silverb.htm

Starting to look for a new Gasser - Spirit II E-210 looks like a good fit

I've got a friend that has a 2 burner spirit. Hes had it roughly 3 years. He likes his a lot and no issues to date. I do agree with Bruce that the older models are built even better though. If you want a 2 burner the older silver A is a great grill. I have one that I picked up for free and put...

    Salvageable SS grates

There are actually several articles on this subject. The consensus seems to be that cooking one meal on rusty grates is unlikely to harm you. But doing so regularly probably isn't the best idea from a health standpoint. https://survivalfreedom.com/is-it-safe-to-cook-on-a-rusty-grill-with-8-fixes/

Genesis 1200 Skyline - My first rehab of the season

Congratulations. Very nice grill. And it's refreshing to know that there are people out there that recognize quality and are willing to pay for it rather than going with a cheaper shinier but ultimately disposable big box grill.

    Replacement Grates

It works really really well. Saves money in the long run and much safer.

    Replacement Grates

Mcarbo if you go with the stainless rod grates do yourself a favor and get a chargon grate cleaner. Once you get used to it you'll never go back to a brush. Takes a bit longer but it lasts for years and there's no danger of loose bristles in your food. Several of us have this tool and really...

    Replacement Grates

I never had good luck with the porcelain enameled cast iron grates. Oh they worked fine. But they never lasted more than a few seasons. Went to solid stainless grates about 5 years ago. No problems since.

    Why I am moving...

Thanks for the update. That's a big move. Certainly wish you the best.

    If you had...

I agree with Bruce that Weber is your best bet in regards to support and future parts availability. Both new and old webers are good in that regard.

    Some "Happy Birthday" from Ace!

I'm really grateful we still have a Westlake ace hardware. The help you get in the Ace stores is so much better than at the big box stores. At least it is in my area. I don't buy everything at Ace due to limited selection of a lot of items but do try to throw them business whenever possible...

Flippers, How are you handling Sales With the Coronavirus

Everyone be aware the latest research says the virus lives up to 72 hours on plastic and 48 hours on steel. There is conflicting information about paper products like money with some sources saying a few hours and some saying not at all. This all seems to change frequently based on the source...

    Tank holder wing nut size?

I got one today thanks to Bruce. I also took your advice and turned that bracket 90 degrees and secured it that way with the nut. As you stated it's really not that functional. But the grill looks unfinished from the side without that bracket to me. Thanks.

    Tank holder wing nut size?

Jon you are of course a different generation but you remind me of my father. Who was also a CPA. He loved being a CPA but he also loved working with his hands. He always said he thought He would have been just as happy being a craftsman of some sort. He really taught me a lot.

    Tank holder wing nut size?

Gerry I was kind of a spoiled kid too. My father paid for my college and I knocked around it for a number of years without any real goal. I did always work but I'm sure my father wondered what I was doing there for a while. But he never lost patience. I got serious when I got married and...
