    I followed the same recipe last night. The turkey (butterball) came out great, though the legs were a little dry and tough. Did you also do the "gravy" in his recipe? I tried it and did not like it at all. It seemed like lightly seasoned and smoky water. Did I screw that up somehow?

    Thanks Jim, great video. I love those guys. I was skeptical of "wasting" that much salt on a potato but after watching the video I'm definitely going to try it. Also, their chicken looked a little too perfect, mine never look that amazing, something to strive for.

    I ordered the new performer platinum from Amazon recently (after checking CL for several weeks) and it arrived today as I was walking out the door to leave town for 4 days, very upsetting. I can't wait to fire it up when I get back, guess I have some time to decide on what the first cook will be.

    Sorry Tom, you are absolutely right, the $307 model doesn't have gas assist, thanks for pointing that out. I assumed it did because it was more expensive than usual. I definitely want the gas.
