Hey Chris, they were the Weber Grill-Out Times. And the cartoons were very cool. If I can get them I will try and scan a few to put up on the site.

My Grandma also has a binder of monthly newsletters put out by Weber that my Grandpa subscribed to, but she didn't want to let go of them yet.

They have the new model on display, so they assembled all of the 2012 models that they had in stock and put them out to sell. Going to be doing these this weekend. The wife does a whole turkey in the oven cause that's what her Dad likes, and I'm gonna do the legs and wings on the WSM mini cause that's what her brother and I like. Early Thanksgiving this year because the family is all here at one time!

As a general rule of thumb, 24hrs for every 4Lbs to get it fully thawed. As Paul said, that would make it about 4 days.

I love the description for the "coolie pan" in the 1962 catalog! I have not heard that term in a long time, my how times have changed! LOL

I know I'm late to this party, but just got my Mini-WSM a few weeks ago. I fill the bowl to just below the vents, and add 7-8 lit coals to one side of the bowl. Mix in about 4-5 chunks of apple or cherry and I get 10+ hours with no problems.

Howdy back at ya Hank, I did not re-fuel. Burned 11 hours on the charcoal and wood chunks I loaded at the beginning. Started the fire using a modified minion method, and the temp was just starting to drop a little, 220, when I was ready to take the butt off. I love this thing.

So far 2 cooks on my new mini, and I'm loving it! Did a pork butt for the first cook, 11 hours at 250 with no effort. Came out great. Ribs today, and again a great success. Don't think I will be slow cooking on my kettle's anymore. Sorry no pics, maybe I will remember next time.
