    An accessory for the Weber....

Along with the steel slab top is the newer configuration of the pizza stone base configuration. They call it a "tombstone", what I see as a benefit is three sided open areas within the grill for adding more charcoal briquets/lump and hardwood chunks if wanting to extend the cook. That said...

    An accessory for the Weber....

The $50 tag included the top slab steel piece. Missing from the original sale boxed item were the wooden peel, the aluminum peel, and the 14" metal pan. I've got peels, no need for the pan. I'll try to get a pic up tomorrow. That the uninsulated SS accessory (or the Weber grill itself) will...

    An accessory for the Weber....

Primitive? As in, cooking over an open fire? I'll see what I can do.

    An accessory for the Weber....

Not really a Weber branded accessory I guess, so maybe I'm in the wrong thread. But, a great Craigslist find just 45 miles from home. KettlePizza "Serious Eats" model, just missing the 2 peels. Looks like it was used once or twice. $50 and 4 or 5 gallons of gas in the car...

Upgrading old to new propane connections

Just did the adapter swap. And noticed that the tank with 2 oblong does indeed have the comfort grip, but just the one. Coulda sworn it didn't.... I'll still look at the hanger size tomorrow, take a measurement.

Upgrading old to new propane connections

Pics of 2 of the tanks I have stockpiled: The tank that will fit on the grill has 2 small oblong cutouts, with a larger oblong cutout for use as a hand grab when carrying. The hand grab on this tank does not has a "comfort" rolled edge. Any of the three cutouts could be used on this grill...

Upgrading old to new propane connections

I immediately went on Amazon to order a tube, but Amazon says I bought one just over a year ago? Amazon is correct. I'll be disassembling tomorrow and refresh witht the pipe thread sealant.

Upgrading old to new propane connections

Had some time this morning to get the adapter in. Prepped everything indoors, today it's finally getting to be chilly mornings here in New England. Search for the replacement regulator/hose that I put in a safe place last week, finally found it. All attached, tested with soapy water, first...

    Nobody Using Q Grills?

And about the duck. It was good, and not bad for my first attempt of a duck. I've eaten duck many times, but never attempted the cook at home. This year I've come to trust Aldi's packaged meats. Their ground lamb is good quality, the duck too. Could have probably used a bit more time on the...

    Nobody Using Q Grills?

Prepping the duck the night before I tossed the fatty cutoffs into fry pan and cooked them off for the neighbors dog. Seeing the duck fat that rendered out we decided to combine with an equal amount of lard and oven roasted some Yukon Gold potatoes. Tasty. Any of you from Chicago area, and if...

And while it's resting, the aroma is incredible. I only hope the sides will compliment.

Sprouts and pots are in the oven while the duck rests.

Not sure what happened with the last post, maybe the excessive beer. Here's the results of the duck.

    Nobody Using Q Grills?

30 minutes at 450 degrees, pricked over the breast, dropped to 350, for another hour or so. Water added to the pan underneath. Great sounds coming from the grill.

Upgrading old to new propane connections

I'm certainly not trying to incinerate myself, that hasn't gone well in the past. Where do I find a high psi regulator that is adjustable and compatible? Buy off of the Bayou site after contacting them and describing my needs?

    Nobody Using Q Grills?

Going on the grill 10 minutes ago. I'm impressed with the quality so far. Sides will be roasted potatoes (same seasoning) and brussel sprouts with balsamic. May be OK, we'll see.
