Weber charcoal heat controller, the Weber Vortex?

I have the Vortex and recently stumbled across a diffuser "heat control baffle". ring for the Vortex. Seems like Weber ripped off the Vortex, and Vortex copied the baffle ring from Weber. Either way, these look like a better setup for indirect low n' slow snake method.

    WEBER HEAT CONTROLLER

If you don't already have a Vortex, then this makes sense and may be worth the 100.00. For those that have a Vortex, simply pick up the diffuser for the Vortex. I think it would definitely result in a consistent low and slow snake method cook a more even result.

NEW: Weber Lumin Compact Electric Grills

We have a Zojirushi Electric griddle with multiple inserts ( TakoYaki griddle, flat griddle, searing griddle.) We bought it from Japan it was less than $400.00 USD. It seems similar to the Weber Lumen. If I didn't already have the Zojirushi & the Weber Q, I would consider the Weber Lumen.

    Char basket vs. fire bricks?

Firebricks with Bro N sear, plus covering the cool side of the charcoal grates to re-direct heat to the hot side seems to be a good solution.
