    What's your take on a 2012 Genesis 330?

I agree with that. I have the EP-330, and bought the rotisserie, which doesn't work very well because there is not much clearance, but mostly because the burners are laid out in the wrong direction for the roto. They should be parallel to the spit, rather than perpendicular to it. When I spin...

Is someone actually grilling on a Genesis II?

I agree, there is quite a price jump for the LX models. Our local Lowes still has original Genesis Stainless Steel S-330's for sale for $849. Basically the same as the new Genesis II LX S-340 that sells for hundreds of $$ more. The two grills are sitting side by side. The high price of the...

Cedar Plank Salmon - disaster averted...

I preheat my soaked planks over direct heat to get them smoking BEFORE I add the salmon. Once I add the salmon, I move the planks to indirect heat (no flame under it). I get 4 to 6 salmon cooks on a single plank before they are used up. I have gone to Alder wood planks, rather than cedar. A...

    Reverse searing woes.

I use an internal temperature of about 100 F for the indirect initial cook. That usually takes about 10 minutes per side for a 1 1/2 inch thick steak. After hitting 100 F, I remove the steak from the grill, then turn up the burners for direct searing. I cook the steaks over the direct heat for...

Genesis: Questions re rotisserie, grates, and cover

I have the EP-330, and the rotisserie is not optimal because of the low clearance and the burner orientation. The roto would work better if the burners were parallel to the rotating spit, rather than perpendicular to it. My first grill cover was a Weber, and it only lasted a couple of years...

    Reverse searing experience

I am not sure if it makes a difference, but I flip the steak over (as opposed to rotate) about half way thru the indirect cook. About when the steak hits 70 degrees F internally, on the way to 100 deg F.

    Reverse searing experience

I have had very good luck with reverse sear on a Weber gasser. I heat the steak over indirect heat until the internal temperature reaches 100 deg F. This takes about 20 minutes (10 minutes a side). Then I put the steak over the searing burner for a total of 4 minutes (two minutes per side...

Low and Slow on the Weber Gasser

My EP-330 gasser will run at 225 deg if I use only one burner at the lowest setting.

    Baked Bean Recipes

One of my favorite recipes is Steven Reichlin's Smokehouse Beans. I made them last weekend for the July 4 holiday. http://barbecuebible.com/recipe/smokehouse-beans/ 6 ounces bacon, cut into 1/4-inch slivers 1 large onion, finely chopped (about 2 cups) 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 15-ounce...

Why the growth in high end charcoal grills and BBQ

It is a natural progression from the desire to have luxury and professional appliances in the home kitchen. The professional kitchen look is all the rage whether one cooks or not. A high end industrial gas stove, a Subzero refrigerator, granite or quartz counter tops. The TV shows that...

    Question for Summit owners...

Toni, You said you may get an EP-330 plumbed for NG. I really like my EP-330 (propane). I have had it for about 5 years now.

gai yang (thai style grilled chicken)

I made your recipe last night, cooking two breasts. They were very good and tasty. I marinated for about 4 hours, cooked over indirect heat until about 140F. Then over high heat to crisp up the skin. I used store bought Thai Sweet Chili Dipping sauce. A great sweet and spicy taste to a...

Weber-Stephen Enters Into Settlement Agreement With Sears Holdings Corp

The company took a $3 billion dollar loss in fiscal year 2012, and is expected to lose considerable amounts at least through fiscal 2016. The main reason the Company has been able to survive over the past few years was due to sales of real estate and other assets. Massive store closures...

Which weber grill to buy. Need help.

I would spend the extra money and get the EP-310 to get the SS flavorizer bars, rather than on the S-310 SS model. I didn't want the SS model, which is why I chose the EP-330 over the S-330.

What is everyone cooking this weekend?

I have heard that alder wood is the best for cooking salmon. I bought some alder wood planks and plan to try them out this weekend. I have always used cedar planks it the past. I bought 30 alder wood planks (seconds) for $24.99, including shipping.
