    Tried Indirect Cedar Plank Salmon

Hi Bill The Q does Cedar Planked salmon fantastically. I never worry about the foil I just do it straight on the grill, I will have to try with the foil and see if it makes any difference. I found that by lightly brushing with some Dijon mustard after brining and before cooking added a different...

New to forum, to Q and burning everything!!

Always light the outer burner first. Turn the gas on high, wait 5 seconds and then light generally takes just a few clicks. You can do the snags with both burners on real low, just lift the lid and turn 90 degrees every minute. should take 6 - 7 minutes. Cheers

Does a 2 burner Spirit cook evenly?

Craig I just had a look on amazon and the prices for the spirit and the Q320 were about the same, The q300 was cheaper and the Q220 was cheaper again. If I was to be asked which model I would purchase it would definitely be the Q320. Mate what an awesome BBQ that is and one of the prime reasons...

Does a 2 burner Spirit cook evenly?

Hi Craig When you cook with the lid down thewhole grilling area is the same. These BBQs are designed to mainly cook with the lid down. I don't know the price differences but have you considered the Weber Q series as an alternate. Cheers

New to forum, to Q and burning everything!!

Turn the outer burner off and just use the inner burner. You may want to take the thermometer out and test it in boiling water. You should be able to get it down to 325 - 350 with only the outside burner on. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Was the Q Line of Grills Designed for the Australian Market?

John No the Q line was not specifically designed for the Aussie Market. Glad you found my cookbook, it is designed to show you different methods of cooking on the Q. In Australia gas grilling is the most common form of BBQ and that is why you see a lot more. The Weber Q cookbook was written by...

    Solid griddle?

Hi Susie The teflon sheet is also used for lining the bottom of the oven. Try it and see. To use it preheat the Q first ant then turn down to the desired heat and then put it on. The Teflon Liner/Grill Sheet should be rated for up to 600F (315C) minimum. The one I use is rated for up to 650F Cheers

New to forum, to Q and burning everything!!

Sorry Susie Q, only just saw you post and that you are having trouble. Never fear the Captains here. Using the Q320 you are cooking too long and probably a bit too high, you never mentioned that you turned the gas down once you preheated that's one of the reasons. The following is the basic...

Hi Susie, or is it Susie Q Welcome to the forum. I demonstrate cooking on Barbecues for Weber Australia - every Saturday between the end of September and end of December each year. G'Day Dave Why did you go back, I hope you took 3 of your mates with you. (LoL) I am guessing you have a BSP to NPT thread issue. any regular plumbing supplier should be able to fix the problem with a standard NPT to BSP adapter. Welcome to the forum. Cheers

    Lid...Open v Closed

I tend to agree with Bill on this. If you asked me 12 months ago I would have said "always lid on". Now, after more experimentation. I can say that it definitely depends on what you are cooking and the desired finish/taste. Cooking a 19 mm rare steak with great searing and outside colouring...

    Q 200 Advice

The common problem that you can get is the folded metal box like doo hicky with a vee shaped end that sits over the ignitor gets bent generally upwards. The purpose of the box is to trap some gas in it to give the spark something to ignite. Try re-aligning (bending the box and flap) so they can...

Tuna Patties on the Q 220

A Frogmat works great on the Q. I also use a trivet without foil under it and a frogmat on top of it to raise the food up a bit and not get strong sear marks. It allows the marinade to set or doesn't burn the burgers etc into oblivion. Cheers
