    interesting cook

George Now and then you can get a bit of a flare up. I keep a spray bottle of water near my BBQs The spray mist will help reduce it and then cool it down. Don't try and drown it as that will spread the fire. Just a gentle spray is good. Cheers

    q100 too hot?

Hi Justin The baby Q does get hotter than the Q200 series. If it gets too hot you can always turn it down after preheating. Try this, Preheat for 10 minutes, lift the hood , turn it down about 3 or 4 stokes and then brush it using the triangular brush, wait a few minutes and then put the meat...

    Butterflied chicked on a Q220

Hi Guys I just did a 4 lb (1.8Kg) spatchcocked chook (chicken - pardon my accent). Actually I do them regularly on the Q220. I preheat for 10 minutes on high with the trivet on the grill - no foil underneath. This kills off the nasties and warps everything up. I then brush the trivet and wipe...

    Painting a Q320 Lid

The Q300 series will get to a ld temp of 650C . Must be High Temp powder-coating. Must be sand blasted clean and then aluminium must be treated with an alodine or similar treatment - the powder coater should know what to use. As the lid is cast it is porous to a certain extent. Cheers
