When adding charcoal on a long smoke?

You are probably right as long as I have let the fire get down that far. So far, I have been on top of the fire and the need for lit charcoal being added has not been necessary. I set the Que off at about midnight and it was in good shape until early hours when I added more unlit. Used about...

When adding charcoal on a long smoke?

Just wondering what the group likes as the quickest and cleanest way to add charcoal to a long cook. Butts and brisket will usually go beyond the limit of the ring in my 22.5.
