    Primo Pure Servo control

Since the Primo is oval there is a section that is flat but it starts to curve on the right hand side. The servo can only open it about half way. luckily that is more than enough for low and slow cooks. I can cook from 190 ish to maybe 450 ish with the travel I have. If I need to go hotter...

    Primo Pure Servo control

So now that I've had a chance to put this together, here are some pics. The bracket was made from 1/8 in. aluminum plate. But the whole point was the magnetic shaft coupling....

    SMTP settings

I tried configuring a Static IP again and broke email and SMS... Set it back to DHCP and it started working... Per your suggestion I dug into my router and figured out how to reserve a DHCP IP address. It works perfectly! Thank you for the help, it was exactly what I needed.

    SMTP settings

Well, I completely reset all configuration and left it as DHCP for my wireless adaptor and it is working now.... Weird.. I'll just have to keep changing my port forwarding through my firewall when the IP changes.

    Primo Pure Servo control

Just curious if you ever finished your magnetic coupling. I plan on building almost this same setup for my Primo. What I plan on doing for the a magnetic coupling of the 6/32 shaft is to cut the shaft about an inch or two from the vent and put a stainless female hex 6/32 standoff on each end...

    SMTP settings

I'm trying to get email and SMS notifications working. What am I missing? I have an ASUS RT-AC68P router. My Heatmeter is on a static IP of 192.168.2.225 Anyone that has set this up that could lend a hand that would be great. Network setup on HeatMeter IPv4 address 192.168.2.225 IPv4...

Noise with pit thermcouple driving me bonkers

Well... Components that could cause noise.... Bad 5v reg, bad 3.3v reg (or surrounding caps.) The diodes next.. Any semiconductor near it's conduction point will create noise. Any of these parts could cause noise. After verifying those I'd look at the rest of the caps. If nothing else...

    Change http port on HM

on my router I port forwarded external port 9080 to internal heatmeter ip port 80. So my external address is http://routeraddress:9080

HeaterMeter 4.2 Thermocouple issue (constantly increases, w or w/o sensor)

I would test between pin 28 on the ATMega and ground while it is running. If the voltage is stable there when the temp on the probe is stable, then the only thing left that could change the reading is software..... And I would test pin 28 vs the pads under the probe inputs since that is after...

More idea's... Like you need them..

Using your SMD version, and switching the shift register from 8 to 16 bit would do two things, one you could move the third led from a port pin to the shift reg. like the other two led's, freeing up another port. Giving you an additional 7 outputs to drive switching for whatever.... Could the...

More idea's... Like you need them..

Disagreement is good... That's how things get worked out... I will point out that if you were to change probes even rarely, you still have to change the probe profile in software, so you are already switching it in one place (software) just seems to reason that it you already need to change it...

More idea's... Like you need them..

lol, You say why, I say why not... I mean, we're building a computer to run a grill.. I can grill without one too. Not trying to be a smarta$$, but if there is enough computing power to do so, why add physical switches.. The other problem I see with physical switches are the contacts...

More idea's... Like you need them..

Hence the reason for a 4066 quad bilateral switch or something like it to do the hardware switching or maybe a latch and hold so you would only need to hit it during boot and it would be set.

More idea's... Like you need them..

Just thinking out loud, What is the voltage drop/resistance of something like a quad bilateral switch? Something along the lines of a 4066. Was thinking of a way to put 4 thermocouple sockets and the 4 mono jacks for thermistor probes and let the selection you make when you define the probe...

    4.2.4 power requirements

If I remember the schematic correctly.. The BS170 is just the signal amp that drives the FQU11P06TU, that can do 9.4 amps cont. but I wouldn't push it that hard since there is not a lot of heat sink on the board. But I would guess 3 to 4 amps would be fine... What can your 12volt adaptor...

Just built a 4.2.4! Love it.. I have a feature request... (already)

Wonderful news! Thank you both. As long as it works, I don't care about the rest. I can always order a new thermocouple probe and use it until it comes...

How many Heatermeter/Raspi built so far

Built a 4.2.4, thermocouple amp preinstalled version. After I show this to a few friends, I'm guessing I'll be building a few more.....

Just built a 4.2.4! Love it.. I have a feature request... (already)

Maybe it can already do this and I just did not see where... Can you remap a different port as the "PIT" port? reason, I have many ThermoWorks Pro probes and only one thermocouple probe, yes I built the thermocouple version. If my thermocouple dies, I'm SOL until another one makes it's way...
