    6 Butt Overnighter

Bruce, I am now inspired by your pictures... Both to do six butts at a time and to dress up my backyard kitchen! Beautiful butts well situated on the WSM!

    stoker no ip address

Those alarms are programmed in the stoker itself. Go through the menu on the Stoker itself and you will find them. I never use the Stoker's alarms. StokerLog has much more interesting and useful alarms imo. I don't really need an alarm going off at my smoker; having one on my computer at my...

    stoker no ip address

You have to associate a temperature probe to the blower. In the web software of the stoker, there is a way to assign a temperature probe to control the blower. You are oh so close!

    stoker no ip address

OK Greg, let's try this. We are setting a static IP address which is generally recommended for Stoker users. At your computer, select "Run" from the start menu and type "cmd" then press enter. Once the black command window opens, type "ipconfig" and see what it shows you. It should display...

    stoker no ip address

Not sure what you mean by "no IP address". On the Stoker menu, there is a setting for IP address. Change that IP address so that it matches your router's IP address except for the last digit group; i.e. if your router is 192.168.1.1, then you should set the Stoker to 192.168.1.10 or...

    Pork Loins Wrapped in Bacon

That looks fantastic Greg! The woven bacon image looks wonderful... Did you do anything special to finish the cook? Also, did you prefer the rubbed one or the bacon wrapped ones? What is the recipe for the rub? Great job!!

stoker fan blower will not shut off

Sorry so late in my reply Nick. I would recommend that you keep calling him until you can speak with him personally. He is not very good at returning calls or email (many postings here reflect this unfortunate trait.) I have found if you call and speak with him he is very helpful but you...

stoker fan blower will not shut off

Sorry it isn't working Nick. I know this bug exists but I haven't seen it (yet... knocking wood!) Check your firmware version. It might be worth a call to Rock's to ask about any other fixes/resets/updates for this bug. Maybe Amir can chime in if there is any update to this issue.

    Dr's Orders

Kevin is not wrong. Large, well-controlled clinical trials are biased by design and by funding. Consider sources of funding when reviewing study reports and consider the required bias of the study design (you can't get this reading the abstract or a published article; it requires analysis of...

Setting up Stoker on a WRT54GS

Jim, I would just add that most Internet Service Providers supply dynamic IP addresses by default... they periodically change the IP address for each of their subscribers. Maybe once a week or more frequently if the network goes down (or the modem/router is power cycled). Just be aware that...

Rain washing out my Stoker test run

Hi Eric, Just to clarify a couple of points. First no data is sent to Rock's website. The Stoker has a built-in webserver that you use to control the Stoker from your computer (via your home network, either wired or wireless through a bridge.) To get the Stoker to work through the home...

    Today’s cook – Prime rib

Beautiful roast, Chuck! I saw one of those a few weeks ago on sale at my local grocery but didn't buy it (intended to go back but sale ended). Oh well... next time I'll grab it! You are right about Chris's instructions and the Stoker with StokerLog. Love em both!

    Smoked Eye of Round Sammies

That looks fantastic Bill! Nice colors and cool slicer... I need one of those! Did you save the juices in the pan on the lower grate? I did one of those cuts but I didn't get much good juice outta mine. How was it when sliced... juicy to an extreme or just mildly juicy?

cold snowy/rainy and windy day to smoke some butts :(

That sounds great Tony. I think brats sound great for this weekend too. I don't suppose one more person would be noticed at the party... even if I wear Tarheel Blue? See you tomorrow! (Just kidding) I'm sure the food will disappear but one of his friends will go home disappointed (I am...
