Should I keep doing it ?

Keep it going, and if any hassles, follow the advice of @Bruce :smilekettle: !

🤣 I wish I could get it! $180 is a little steep, but that is a very rare piece of Weber history. One last gasp for the gas kettle snd the beginnings of the Performer.

New The Huntsman Kettle Kamado Grill from Spider coming.

I hope to give some updated evaluations in the coming weeks. My Huntsman needs to behave better in the now warmer weather.

Those are the really nice original ones! They are worth the effort, I think.

When you can't have steak: Dizzy Pig "Tsunami Spin" seasoned grilled pork chops make for a great second choice. (Bottom one is plain for my wife.)

I know I am late and this thread has moved on, but I had to comment about that Weber table being in Fouke, Arkansas. I actually have been there, because of my interest in off the wall stuff. This was where the 1970s B Movie “Legend of Boggy Creek” took place. It told the tale of western...

Talk me out of a Summit S-670

Steve, When I said that in 2022, the "current" model was the bloated, rust prone one like this: The biggest negative of this 3rd generation Summit was how prone it was to the firebox front rusting through with dangerous implications. Add to that the cheap steel cabinetry that also rusted...

    '95 Genesis 1000 LX Build - Not a Keeper

You are about to convert me on this method, Josh! Looks great and no spray paint fumes. (I do wear a respirator.)

    Weber Parts Deals

Josh, that’s pretty cool, but not $150 cool. I think the old Genesis one might actually fit.

I vote for giving your paint job a good long cure time. No paint will last forever, but I think it is an acceptable way to breathe new life in badly faded parts, especially if you are painting back to the original color.

Yeah, that’s why I want to give it a few tries. I might even experiment with trying to use flavorizer bars and for “direct” mode try out GrillGrates to see if that helps.

New The Huntsman Kettle Kamado Grill from Spider coming.

I will soon be doing some warm weather cooks to see if it was the outside temperature or me that caused my issues back when it was cold. I do want to also try with and without the Venom fan. I truly want to like the Huntsman’s cooking prowess as much as I admire its amazing construction and...

The diffuser is stationary. It sits on top of small holder with legs that point up to hold it. The burner goes up and down. The top of the burner has a wider flange and below that is the opening, which rather than having holes is just one thin opening that goes all the way around. When the...

Here's pictures of (mostly) intact ones. I just need a hole cut in the center of the stainless dish I bought. It just has to be precise and smooth: This catalog page shows how it was supposed to work in direct and indirect modes:

That's a real beauty, Brenda! I got mine from a serious collector (Michael Militello) near me in central Indiana. He sold me both the 18 in the picture and a 22. They are both Patent Pending and are less than perfect but very nice in my book. Having an avocado was a dream of mine, so I was VERY...

Now that tax season is over, I am hoping to find someone to cut the stainless dish I bought to fabricate a replacement diffuser. Then I hope to post some cooks using the “direct” and “indirect” methods and real kava rocks. I think it will be fun to give a modern take on this “Edsel” of Weber’s...

Yes, they are. Not sure why, but maybe it was the beginning of having to improve safety from knuckle burns or perhaps they thought with the gas on high and with lid vents only on the sides, the lid would get extra hot.
