New The Huntsman Kettle Kamado Grill from Spider coming.

I believe that is the case. Next winter, I may try running WITHOUT the Venom and use the best lump charcoal I can find. But, in the end, it doesn't make sense to dump a barrel of charcoal into a Huntsman when I can pull out a Weber kettle, use my Recteq or gas grill and get all the winter...

New The Huntsman Kettle Kamado Grill from Spider coming.

Hoping to try out again soon. Been too swamped with house and personal stuff. My problem in the winter was I could not get it up to temp, even with two starters worth of Kingsford Professional. I am hoping nice weather now will be more suitable for high heat grilling. I have not any issues doing...

The daisy wheels are more work and harder to clean up, but they do give you better control for low and slow bbq.

I wanted that gas kettle in the cart very much, but time - and spouse - weren’t on my side. I am very glad it is going to a great home and can’t wait to see it beautifully restored. :smilekettle:

I have never been much of a fan of those grates and, in fact, sent some to the scrapper. However, @Steve Hoch I have to admit you make them look REALLY good. Your point about them being "genuine Weber" for flips is well taken, as I think most buyers will be impressed that they are shiny...

    Griddle Insert for Genesis 1100

I bought that Qlimetal one for my Weber Flat Top that has the same grill dimensions as a Genesis 1100. I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be of good quality. I like the reversible options and that the drain hole is in the middle where it will drain down to the drip tray faster. Good price, too!

Not on a prime candidate. Hopefully very soon I will take on some new grill work. I will pull out a borderline control panel and do before and after pics.

I will be very interested to see what you guys think about this product. Yes, the cost with shipping is way too high, but as Bruce said, if it saves a few marginal lids it is worth it. Be sure to apply like they say and not rush it.

That solid cast iron could be made to look great again. It is a cool old grill. The advantages the CharQ has is (1) that it has a lid to do Weber-style charcoal grilling :coolkettle: , and (2) the cast aluminum doesn't rust and makes the CharQ easily transportable.

That was about the harshest review I have seen Tom do, so I would stay away from those!

    New Req Tek

Also, to produce this much heat - and with TWO burn pots, this new grill looks to be a bit of pellet hog. I think pellets are economical for low and slow, but not so much for high heat.

New 2025 Spirit E-425 sear test

I think Weber has done something really good with the new Spirits. Sure, there is a lot of painted steel, but in the mid-price arena, I think their new Spirits stand out. I would love to try one out! Thanks for sharing, Mark. Keep grilling; you might find you like that cast iron better than...

No, just a hood and control panels. The instructions tell how you are supposed to apply it and let it sit for a while before buffing off. On the badly faded sliding tops on my Flat top, it did a lot of good but not like new, but there was no way they would look great again. On my Skyline that...

Mark, I have tried this stuff with some pretty impressive results. I am not saying it will bring back a badly faded hood, but it did wonders on my mildly faded Skyline hood. I think it is definitely worth a try on your Platinum (and future projects)...

    New Req Tek

I really love my Recteq RT-700. It's going on 7 or 8 years old and still works like a charm. This new one, though, seems to me like an expensive and complicated way to replace a gas grill and smoker box. I think Ninja's approach of using gas for heat and pellets (if you want them) for smoke...

Me neither! Smart on Weber’s part.

Hang in there, Mark. There is a buyer out there. One thing you could consider is doing if the wait gets too long is the "black" treatment making the burner knobs and handle black - maybe even the end pieces - and then re-listing.

Yes, I am still waiting. My very custom handle seems to be problematic as it is up to a year now. First, I want to agree that Brian O'Neil's workmanship is superb and that he is a good friend of us grill fanatics. I have a variety of his handles, even one for the PK grill. I also do understand...

Should I keep doing it ?

Yes, I failed to first compliment a BEAUTIFUL JOB! We need you to keep saving classic Webers from the landfill and instead turning them into something stunning like your latest restore. (y)
