Suggested set up for Charcoal Grate - two cross rods on topside.

Good info Larry D. I've got a Brinkman in the back I completely forgot about, it's time to "part it". Donald

    Don't see much tri-tip chatter . . .

Hey Larry: I'm pretty new at the WSM thing too but I think a tri would be great on a WSM, I saw some really big ones at Costco today . Here's a thread that talks about tri tip. Next time I do tri tip I'll probably try it on the WSM after browning it up on my Smokey Joe or vice versa. Donald

Suggested set up for Charcoal Grate - two cross rods on topside.

Thanks Eugene, I flipped my grate over and alas, less ring movement, very good observation! Anybody: Whatabout this gap here: Anybody, unmodified, know how to deal with this gap, I'm leaning towards "WeldMasters" dumpster dive mod . Any problem with smothering on your setup using...

    BBQ items on a plane

I filled two one gallon freezer bags with these grape sticks and carried them on, no problem with the TSA. If I think the TSA will balk at something I take it out of the bag and throw it in one of the grey rubbermaid trays, it just speeds up things; no need for them to go digging through...

    BBQ items on a plane

Oh yeah, the TSA almost had a field day once when I packed one of those Brookstone attach to the bbq lamps my Ma had given me (it seems all I get now are bbq accessories. Why? I don't know why.). They take my bag, my ticket, my name, my number. We open the bag, there it is, I explain it's...

    BBQ items on a plane

When I visit my Father in Law I grab as much grape and apple wood from his garden as I can. I'm talking a 20" carry-on half full. This is as recently as last month. One time he wrapped a bunch of neatly stacked apple sticks in the shape of, well, let's say the TSA xray operator thought it...

We've all been there Harbormaster, we've all felt your shame, we understand... It's the WSM, it makes us do things we ordinarily wouldn't do otherwise; it's not your fault. On a contrived note, my 13 y/o daughter fed up with my frequent blabbing about the WSM and how the streets are safer with...

    HELP! Brisket Done Too Soon!
