I thought about the top vent but wondered whether that would put the thermometer body where it might get fried. how long are the leads on these probes?

I've searched & read a lot on this & just want to clarify.....to get probes to the grill and/or meat either the grill & lid are notched or a hole is drilled??

go for it. if I wanted to keep it a secret I would not have put it on the internet. besides, I cannot claim this design. I have come up with some 'creative engineering' over the years but this came with the grill.

Arnold fireside is where I went. they did carry weber at one time. I was told that they carried the weber ranch kettle & that's what I was hoping to see. they also carry yoder smokers. if I can believe what I read after charbroil bought out & cheapened up the Oklahoma joe smokers a disgruntled...

Is it sacrilege to ask about a napolean kettle on this website?? i've seen a few napoleon gas grills over the years but never any charcoal grills. today I was at my local green egg dealer & they had a napoleon clone of the weber performer. they have a WSM clone as well. anyone have one of these?

what are the main differences between these? from what I've read it appears to be the range of the transmitters. I know that maverick & Ivation are the same but some sites are showing Redi-Chek as being maverick also.
