    Stoker -I need help.

Robert, I had some trouble too and by no means an expert, but have some experience working with all of this. It sounds like your bridge is not configured correctly or the Stoker is not getting the IP address from the bridge, since you can connect to the Stoker when the bridge is not in the...

Stoker Overshoot Probelm....could StokerLog manual fan control help?

Thanks Amir. Yes I agree that I think the fire is going out too much when the fan is not running for such a long period during an overshoot. Then the fan has to run a lot because it does not come on until below the setpoint and the undershoot is steep, taking a lot of air to relight the coals...

Stoker Overshoot Probelm....could StokerLog manual fan control help?

The vent is open for 350* cooks. For my 235-250* cooks, my vent is about 1/3-1/2. I don't use water and I use a clay saucer. But the saucer is not causing the overshoot and I have no problem getting the temp up with the saucer in. So the saucer is not the problem....the problem is the over...

Stoker Overshoot Probelm....could StokerLog manual fan control help?

First, let me start by saying that I only have 5 cooks under my belt using the Stoker and StokerLog. And I don't do comps....just personal use at home. But on a couple of cooks, I have had overshoot problems....both from coming up to the desired temp and also getting the temp down to the...

    Is Hacking a real Problem??

I agree with Matt B on only using wired connections at comps if you are afraid of hacking. I don't do comps and don't have any idea of the real hacker threat there, but it may not be the other teams trying to ruin your meat....instead it may be some local "kids" having "fun" trying to ruin it...

    Is Hacking a real Problem??

The only way you can be hacked is for someone to have direct access to your stoker to change your settings, or if your stoker is connected to a network through the ethernet jack (wirelessly or through a cable). If you don't have your Stoker connected to any network connections, then you are...

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

Thanks Rob for the info. I think I am going to try using the mount on the bottom and top vent holes to see which one has better air distribution before I drill a hole. I haven't used the new guru mount with lit charcoal yet (only testing the fan and adapter mount), so I will see how the heat...

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

Thanks Rob. Is the bottom of the deflector 1/2" above the grate? Right now when I put the adapter into the bottom vent, it places the bottom of the deflector just about even with the top of the grate and had to try to move the grate away from the bowl so the air could go down. Also, can you...

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

Rob, I changed my blower adapter to the guru mount. I have it attached to one of the vent holes right now, but I think I am going to drill a permanent hole for it, so I can use the vents for grilling if I want without removing the high heat tape. Where did you drill your hole for the guru...

How much fuel for 10 hours on 22.5 WSM?

Hey Fred, I have a 18 WSM (not a 22), but can offer some input that may help: --10hrs for a brisket may be a little fast, but it depends on how you smoke it. (i.e. foil, high heat, etc.) --look on the main TVWB webpage for Chris' video on how much the 22 WSM charcoal ring holds....I am pretty...

    Installing guru on WSM question

Thanks Justin. I think I am going to drill a hole eventually. Any input on if I should drill the hole lower than the charcoal ring or even with it like where the vents are on the WSM? Thanks again. Kg

    Installing guru on WSM question

Rusty and Morrey, I just went down to try to install my guru mount on my 18 WSM and noticed that the adapter diameter is much larger than my vent opening. But the adapter has a smaller diameter lip on it, which I assumed fit into the hole, but there is no way. (hole is about 3/8" too small)...
