    Lid thermometers for OTG

I have an older OTG that doesn't have the nice lid thermometer with the low profile housing Does anyone know if Weber will sell a thermometer unit separately of the lid? Or do I have to get a unit like the Bayou Classic and put it on there? :blackkettle:

No brisket at BJ's Wholesale club. The pork ribs were 2.99 and the St Louis 3.99 got a pork butt for 1.59 which is very good for around here

    Brisket in Massachusetts

I wanted to try a brisket this weekend, I did one 2 years ago and figured it is time to try another. Went to the store and the Brisket Flat is $9.00 a pound!!! I can get a nice sirloin for that! I am heading to BJ's to see what they get for them. I thought Brisket was supposed to be a cheap...

cut up Weber OTS to make a DIY Pizza Kettle

First time grill too cold, about 500+ and stone was colder. This time I put on too much coal 1 1/2 lit on top of 3/4 unlit. Should have done 1 lit on 1/2 unlit and spread across grate. Top burned, crust on some of the thicker pieces was undercooked. Third time will be the charm I ate the...

    2nd WSM - 18.5" or 14"?

Get the 14, you will never regret it. Yesterday I did 3 racks of baby back, 2 cut in half on a rack on top and 1 more cut on the bottom grate, I could have done 4 racks if I had used a rack on the bottom grate (and I would have had to have bought the extra rack). I don't know about your...

cut up Weber OTS to make a DIY Pizza Kettle

I am using the kiln tile as the pizza stone, it is a little rough but will work. Update: The first pie was fine, but the stone wasn't hot enough, I didn't spread any coals under it just in a C around the sides and back. I need to spread a layer of lit coals across the bottom as well. Also I...

cut up Weber OTS to make a DIY Pizza Kettle

I had seen a DIY kettle pizza on the net and decided to try it myself. I bought an old OTS for $15 and scavanged the lid. I bought a kiln tile that is hollow so you can run threaded rod through it. I cut out a 16.5 inch opening (wide) and 3 1/2 inches high. I bolted a pizza pan for a...

    2nd WSM - 18.5" or 14"?

I don't use the grommet. I cut a notch in the rim and find that is preferable as I don't have to take out the probe to remove a grate or the meat, I just lift the meat, grate and probe. I also cut a notch on my 14.5. unless you are cooking for more than 6 or 8 people all the time get the 14...

    2nd WSM - 18.5" or 14"?

W Tyler The OP said he had a 22" WSM not a one touch gold, had that been the case I would have agreed with you on the 18.5 but with him having a big WSM then the 14.5 or building a mini makes the most sence IMOP. I use my 14.5 at least once a week, I like smoked chicken the wife doesn't, I...

Lump characteristics vs briquettes when starting

if you're worried about fillers in KBB what about all the stuff that's in beef and chicken unless you're getting extremely expensive organic meats I have no problem with KBB
