Revisiting old topic, Heatermeter for pellet smoker.

Yeah, And I can't set minimum on time on my PID. I ordered a new one that can do that, but unfortunately looks like it only has relay output and no alarm outputs at all. I modified the relay output to SSR output, but I can't be bothered to install new components to enable the alarm for the...

Revisiting old topic, Heatermeter for pellet smoker.

Hi there, I salvaged an old pellet smoker with presumably bad electronics. I ripped them out and decided to use my PID to control it. However on my PID I can't set output low / output high limits, which would be needed for controlling the Auger. Is there any way to add these to Heatermeter...

    Wish list...

Would it be possible to program an alarm based on how much the meat internal temp has climbed in the last hour? Or something like that. Then it would be possible to set an alarm not based on the internal temp, but instead when various meats hit the stall.

    Runaway temps? Cheap fix/long story....

I currently have a hole in my UDS, no ball valve at all. But I've closed it about 60% with a magnet before my fan attachment. It is pretty stable for around 8 hours, but sometimes the temp starts to drop and I need to temporarily open up my inlet more. It's actually more stable without HM...

New Linkmeter (Version 20131007B) keeps losing my stashed logs?

Probably. Most likely, since that's when I'd find it out. I've always stashed before shutting down. But it's been at least 30 seconds after stashing and unplugging, is that fast enough to corrupt something ;)?

    Runaway temps? Cheap fix/long story....

So... When are we gonna get some sweet 3d printed ping-pong parts ;)? This is exactly what I'd need, I'm having a lot of problems with too much air going into my UDS. And if I tape up the fan, later on the cook the amount of air is not enough.

Smoker temps affecting food probe temps?

Hi, On my UDS pit temp affects also food probe temps. I'm not sure if it's only a problem with somewhat thin cuts of meat like brisket flats and salmon. I don't think it happens too much with pork butts or other thicker cuts. I'll post a graph when I'll get home, but it's very clear looking at...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Yeah that's exactly the problem! Usually nobody in the world has the same obscure problems that I do ;)

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Thanks! Now I can connect to my server using dyndns and port 500! However, still can't authenticate with my Android phone (it's on 2.x cm7), works fine though with my tablet on Android 4.x (cm10). Doesn't really bother me at all, I can still view what's going on with my phone. Just need to get...

New Linkmeter (Version 20131007B) keeps losing my stashed logs?

Well I had my linkmeter unplugged for four days. And it still kept the stashed logs. I guess it only loses them when they are important

New Linkmeter (Version 20131007B) keeps losing my stashed logs?

No I don't think I did anything out of the ordinary. However on the first boot heatermeter had been off for several days and transported from a different place. On the second reboot I tried to recreate the problem, so I just unplugged it for a while. Actually I think it has done this after every...

New Linkmeter (Version 20131007B) keeps losing my stashed logs?

Hi, I didn't have this problem with the previous version, but now that I've upgraded I keep losing my stashed logs. It has happened twice already, but it's not happening every time I power cycle Linkmeter. Hmm, maybe this is the culprit? When I lost the stash archive, system log had this: Sep...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Well that's weird, that's exactly how I've tried it. I've tried it with numeric ip and also with a dynamic dns and no http:// in front of the address.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Does Pitdroid work with nonstandard port? I tried to input my port with ip address to Pitdroid, but it failed to connect. Port 80 is blocked by my IP to internet, so I can't use it. Outside access works fine with browser using port 500.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Thanks, I'll try it in a couple of days. I guess there are more packages that need to be installed, have to check the system log from my other Openwrt box. I have a working LTE dongle on it, and it provides Heatermeter with internet connection. Going to cook my first "off-site" cook tomorrow...

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Is it possible to downgrade the OpenWrt on Heatermeter? I'm trying to get a 3G/4G dongle working with my Heatermeter and I think I'll need kmod-usb-serial and other stuff. Problem is, I can't install it, probably because the kmod-packages and the firmware must be from the same build or...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Heatermeter 4: automatically joining the same wifi after power off?

Well, smoking again. Definitely need to sync time with browser in system, otherwise the graph is empty. Is this something that could be fixed? I'm not saying I'm too lazy to click one box now that I know how to fix it :)

Heatermeter 4: automatically joining the same wifi after power off?

Well I doubt it was a browser issue, the graph was empty with both Firefox and Chrome and also with my Android phone. If it comes back, I'll check the logs.

Heatermeter 4: automatically joining the same wifi after power off?

Hmm The graph's back now that I've got internet access on my Heatermeter. Maybe the graph fails since Heatermeter can't sync time with NTP server? Normally I don't have internet access for my Heatermeter... Anyway, I disabled the NTP server, let's see if it has an effect...
