when i used it on my bandit, the difference was less than 10 degrees - not enough difference to worry about in my opinion.
it works great on a kettle, i've used it there three times (used it stacked on my bandit once)

high heat affects different parts of the meat different. the shortened cooktime isn't worth the need to rotate so frequently.

the diverter is a ~20" round aluminum pan. at first I didn't think it would work, but surprisingly - it works quite well. I think it's like an airbake pan - it's hollow in the inside, so there's a gap of air that acts as an insulator.
