It just said Brisket. I think for my first Brisket ever I am going to give the regular a shot. I'd like to be able to compare them.

    First Brisket Meat selection question

Looking to do my first Brisket next week on my WSM 22. I am most likely going to get it at the Restaurant Depot. I'm looking to get a 10-12 pounder. I was looking at the Angus Brisket but they seem to run thinner and longer then the non Angus of the same size. Does the thickness make a...

    First cook with LinkMeter

Thanks for the suggestions. The LM works great and it was a successful test. Ran fine for over 12+ hours. When I finally got the temp around 227 the fan did come on. So I guess now it is just playing around. I'll probably order those gaskets from eBay anyway to be on the safe side. Although I...

    First cook with LinkMeter

Did my first cook using the LM. I made a Pork Butt. I decided to slice instead of pull it so cooked it to 185. The unit worked great and the fan came on when needed. The only problem I had is with was controlling the Temperature of the cooker itself. I closed all the vents on the bottom...

    Roxy's S C Mustard Sauce

Sorry for the delay in posting. I made his coleslaw. I had some of it but didn't enjoy it (I don't like Mustard at all), BUT everyone else loved it and want me to make it again for them. wonder what I can substitute for Mustard. I'm not a big fan of Mayo either.

Another Brisket - Just in time for the new site

That was some really nice cutting of a perfectly cooked piece of meat. The first thing I thought was did he use a machine to cut it. All the pieces look evenly cut. My first Brisket comes in a few weeks

Interest Check: No login required from local network

I'd rather have to log into the config each time. Once I start cooking I generally don't need to go into the config page and I'd be afraid that someone on the network will screw around with it. Just my feeling on the matter and I can see the benefits from both sides on having it. It's not too...

LinkMeter v2 Homebrew BBQ Controller - Part 2

HI John, Thanks for the help on the LCD screen While the forum was down I decided I wasn't going to use the LCD screen. I'm going to stick this in a case. I wanted to keep it in something in case it rains and the case will also serve as storage.

LinkMeter v2 Homebrew BBQ Controller - Part 2

Thanks Bryan, Maybe I got a bad batch. I'll work around it :-) Now my last problem is the LCD screen not working. lights up and I can control the LCD backlighting. Although I personally may skip the LCD screen entirely and save the LCD for the PI project in the near future :-)

LinkMeter v2 Homebrew BBQ Controller - Part 2

Question about the crimp connectors. They all seem so very loose when connecting to the circuit board. Any movement and they seem to just pop right off. Are they supposed to fit tight onto the board not sure why they are so loose.

Pit probe OK but food probes show OFF

You are the best. So far so good here. The plugs were pushed in too far. Next step is to get the LED working. If not no big deal. I can always use my computer to do all the work

Thanks and sorry for hijacking your thread Kole. I didn't realize it was ok to create new topics for the heater meter stuff. I thought that you were trying ti keep all hetermeter stuff to a single thread
