HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Hi Tom, Which material did you end up using the Black Strong and Flexible? Brings the price up slightly. Not a bid deal as I'd rather have black anyway.

That looks great Tom. Looking forward to ordering. Personally, I'd much rather have the thicker walls and not have to worry about trouble. Tom Kole designs sounds like a nice name for a company :)

Cool deal. Although if the thicker one arrives and it is perfect then I may just go with that one. :-)

    Looking for a V4.0 board?

You may want to check with Andrew Brodsky. He is looking for one board. If no one has a spare board then the two of you may want to order a set. He needs one board.

While it sounds expensive, if you think what an Ipad case costs and other cases the price is nearly the same. If the first prototype doesn't work then I'm all for chipping in some cash to help us get this perfect.

I had my parts from Mouser arrive several weeks earlier then the ETA they posted. With the time it takes to get the boards and such your wait time is reduced.

wow you got it soldered up fast. Don't know if I have the patience to do it all in one shot although I'd like to get it finished quickly so I can either try my hand at designing a case or just use one of the cases being made here. I'm afraid my case will look like puzzle piece by the time I'm...

Did you substitute some stuff? Mouser and digi both had parts that were out of stock until later this month. Mouser actually shipped my parts to me yesterday, just waiting on digi-key. I already have the LCD so saved a few dollars that way.

All my parts should be arriving in the next two weeks. Then a week or so to build it ( I like to take my time doing a little here and there.) Then it will be time for a case in a few weeks. I'll either give it a shot in the dark and create my own or have one of yours made.

would be nice to have an extra compartment for the probes and such after using. Instead of gluing the case together would a locking clasp type thing better in case you need to get inside the unit in the future?

Mouser is a great company. My order already shipped but I wanted to add something to it. They offered to waive the shipping for me.

Baby Back Ribs and Beans 9/16/12

Made some Baby Back Ribs today on the WSM. I used Apple and Cherry wood. Started at 1:30pm and was eating dinner by 6:00 PM Temp was around 227-238 the entire time. It was a tad windy so the temp jumped around a little bit. I used some Big Rons Hint of Houston rub. I added a little bit more...
