Buying a Handle Assembly from Weber

Dino, the only downside of this mod is the vinyl cover that comes with the WSM no longer fits. The handles stick out too far. A 22-1/2 Weber kettle cover should fit, however.

Buying a Handle Assembly from Weber

I fabricated metal straps for the Weber plastic handles. I obtained steel flat from a local hardware store. It was 1/2-inch wide by 1/8-inch thick. At my local hardware store (Orchard Supply Hardware - OSH) it comes in 2 and 4 foot lengths. I removed the top WSM plastic lid handle and used the...

    Weber 9890 rotisserie

I just bought a Weber #9890 Rotisserie , new in the box on Craigslist for $ 45. The original owner said they bought it for their non-Weber grill and it didn't fit. They paid $ 80 for it and had lost the receipt. The rotisserie bar is 39-inches long and is too large to store in the below grill...

    Starting method vs. temperature stability

I think the number one test should be if your WSM can snuff out a ring of charcoal halfway through a burn. On my WSM, if I close all the vents, it will snuff out the charcoal fire. I can open the WSM the next morning and find the charcoal out and cold with a good portion of the charcoal...
