I would call those perfect! Nicely done! Which rub did you prefer?

    Wood Question

Oh I'm sure there are some guys who use for pork and swear by it. I suppose if I were to use some hickory with pork, I would probably add a little fruit wood too (apple, cherry, etc.) in order to tame it. After trying different woods, I usually just stick with apple because it never really...

Thermoworks Smoke... $99 Two probes...one for the grate and one for the meat. You can monitor it inside the house or out at a good range. Built to last.

    Wood Question

See I would agree...and I think that's why I use Apple the most. Hickory, to me, only tastes good with beef. One year I smoked a post Thanksgiving Day Turkey on a little bit of hickory...it was very pronounced ( to the point that my wife said..." you and your brother can eat that one"). We...

    Cook time on 6 butts?

Could be anywhere from 9-12 hours...? But you could keep them warm with a 2-4 hour wrap. Just depends on a lot of stuff, pit temp being most important. I did two bone-in 7.5 lb butts yesterday on my 18WSM thinking they would take 9-10 hours. Started the fire at 4AM; butts went on at 4:30AM...

    I Finally Got a 26er

Just did my first two racks of ribs yesterday with a fuse burn on my newly acquired, pre-owned 26," from a tvwbb member. I am absolutely SOLD! As a long time 22" guy, I wondered if it would be better than having two 22's going at the same time. Short answer is...YES! I feel like I went from...

    Thoughts on Yoder Smoker

I've watched T Roy Cooks on YouTube and he uses a Yoder Wichita, along with his WSM. The Yoder seems to be an excellent cooker.

Weber Summit 24" Charcoal Grilling Center - $1700

Damn.... I'd put that on my credit card and earn the cash back reward. I'd have to sell the Ranch, the 22, probably the WSM and give up on hunting a 26...

WTB: 26" Weber Kettle (Northern California/Central California, Western Nevada)

If you have one you may want to part with, please let me know. I have been looking for one for a while, and can't seemed to find a used one anywhere! I am open to just about anything (color, age, condition). I'd really like to try to buy a nice used one before springing for a brand new one...

I hadn't thought of registering it with Weber. What are the advantages/disadvantages to doing that?

    Craigslist Find

    Another Craigslist Score!

Yeah, I have seen the propane starter and charcoal storage models here for $100-$150 used. I never really wanted one of those, but this Performer is the basic, rack mounted 22 Kettle. I never had a "one touch" before the used "G" code...and I must say, I really like that feature. Now I've got...

    Another Craigslist Score!

Today, I offered my "G" code 22.5" kettle as a birthday gift to my brother (he was born in 1985) and was totally stoked by the gesture. Well now, I need some form of a 22.5" Weber for my frequent outdoor cooking. Anyway, I'm on the old interwebs looking at Craigslist...and what do I find? A...

How to date a Weber Ranch Kettle?

How to date a Weber Ranch Kettle?

So I am trying to figure out exactly how old my Ranch Kettle is. Its definitely 3rd generation, but I can't seem to find a letter code anywhere on it (as the vent is black). The handles don't look exactly like the new dark gray Weber handles and there is no writing on them (but they look...
