Will the lid of a 1200 fit on a 1000?

I'm quite certain the 1200 lid will fit your 1000. I believe the base (bottom half) between both is the same. The higher lid, fold out tables and elec. ignitor vs. piezo are what makes the 1000 a 1200. (I think). For $25 it's a no brainer. As you say, it a spare grate and other parts perhaps...

How much food can a Q1XX(X) take?

We just sold our beloved Q120 after 6 years of problem-free service as our camping grill. We now have a Q200 as I feel we somewhat outgrew the 120. Having said that.........cooking for a family of 4 is do-able. We've done 6-8 burgers at once, a spatchcock chicken, 10-12 sausages. If you really...

Stationary cart for the Q200 missing axle.

My gut tells me Weber will call back with "no joy". I'd just go to HD or Lowes for some rod and be done with it. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bolt-3-8-in-x-36-in-Aluminum-Round-Rod-49380/202183519

    Convert kettle to gas grill?

Would it work? Probably. Would it work well, I doubt it. It seems like a lot of work and effort to make a marginal at best gas grill.

    Wsm bullet question

The others are WAY off................ The LEFT one is for the "flux capacitor" and the RIGHT one is for the "Johnson Rod" and whatever you do, NEVER put them in the wrong hole or bad things will happen.

    warranty question

Sorry to hear, I hope things are better now for you :p. As for warranty - no offence but most products I've encountered are usually to the original owner ONLY and IMHO, it makes sense. Or else where would companies draw the line? They'd have guys buying $5.00 kettles that have been through 10...

New WSM 22.5 - first smoker

Welcome, congrats and enjoy your new smoker. I see you're from Texas, I thought gas grills were against the law down there and you could ONLY cook with charcoal :wsm:. Don't sweat your first smoke, the nice thing about the WSM.....it's really kind of hard to screw it up. Chicken boobs and ribs...

    Restore Question/Problem

Well it was in pretty good shape to start with but I still threw a few hours at it tearing it all down, repairing a few items, new ignitor, cleaning, painting, etc...... Just went back together last night and I think it looks great for my first try. If I flip it it's going as-is. If...

    Better thermometer for Genesis Grill

Tel Tru makes great after-market thermos. Not sure if they have one meant for your grill but I'm sure you'll find it more accurate than the OEM Weber. http://www.teltru.com

    My Genesis 2 redhead

Beautiful grill. The more I see these older grill brought back to life the more I think "they don't make 'em like the used to".

Rehab of 2008 Weber Genesis E-320 with Major Rust and Corrosion

To the OP don't lose any sleep over it. You may have a paid a few bucks more for it than necessary but with some elbow grease, thrifty part shopping or fabricating you might end up with a decent grill.

    new wsm curing.

Seasoning is like "instruction manuals", real men don't need either ;). Stop overthinking and start cooking :wsm:

    Restore Question/Problem

Thanks Bob, a little warming with a torch, a little WD40, and several well placed smacks with a mallet did the trick.

    Summit 620 vs 670

MaryRM congrats on your new Summit. And agree with Greg Y, a cover is important. All of my Webers are covered. It's a shame when I see such nice grills capable of soooo many years of service neglected like junk. Look at this 3 year old Summit for sale in my area.......what a shame...

    Restore Question/Problem

Genny Silver B Restore Project So I have begun restoring my newly acquired Genny B. Last night I had it nearly apart and went to take off the right and left trim pieces on the table ends and it wasn't happening. Once all of the bolts were removed I found the rear connections slid right out...

    Summit 620 vs 670

Agree with Dan. If the only draw to the 670 is the sear and rotisserie feature, I'd pass. Honestly I can do beer butt chickens on a $100 kettle every bit as good as a rotisserie chicken done on a $2800 gasser. I don't mind paying for the "real" items that make a quality grill like the 620. IMHO...

Which is more valuable, old SS Performers or the newer ones?

In Canada we have an online-classified site in addition to CL called Kijiji. Personally I like the interface better. There has been a "seller" on there with a SS Performer for sale for $400 for as long as I can remember (at least over a year). It looks to be in nice condition but it's not...
