    Wow...........I have a suggestion, if it's not broke, don't fix it! why change things and make it more complicated to run, not all of us who use the HM are using or understand ALL of the options available so far. If it becomes more complicated to use, people won't use it. That's just my 2cents...

    I used regular solder on mine.........it's not like the joints are going to melt each time you use it, as it sits under the grate not above it in the charcoal; besides if you read everything is bad for you. It's your call on it.

    on the resister I'm using my HM with thermal board, works if Thermal plugged into it, reg cat 5 cable; as for the RDTC board I installed all componets listed, didn't jump anything
