The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Not sure what the Roto-Damper measurements are, but the opening on the 15CFM Damper is ~ 35mm x 41mm. Pretty sure it's larger.

    Beginner questions

The other two white servo "Horns" are just extras. They always come in a servo package to give you options. They are not needed. The two halves indeed just press fit together. If printed correctly, they should be fairly tight.

User made Thermocouple ideas and results

I use a similar process to make my thermocouples, but I use a SS braided wire, and a jewelers welder to weld the tip. I also use SS tips I found on AliExpress (See link below). They are ideal because they have 1 closed end. Before inserting into tube, I wrap in a small piece of Kapton Tape to...

Where has Bryan been, is this project abandoned?!

Bryan, Cap' Bry, you are awesome. You have stayed the scene, and have delivered a product that, i'm pretty sure, is not commercially available anywhere but here. You are the man! keep your Brilliance coming.

Galvinized is fine. It will never reach temps that cause the zinc to cause any harm.

New 4.3 Thermocouple Build Reading 218.5 in Boiling Water

You must watch elevation, also. I live at 4,500 feet where water boils at 204 degrees F (vs 212 f). I always adjust my cooking temps accordingly.

Notice you took to 325. Bust be to see how high you can get the pit? Otherwise, the graph looks OK. Are you using the Aluma-Damper?

Paralyzed by options. Wanted to order a kit yesterday.

There is a variant for the box portion for the Adapt-a-Damper on Thingiverse if you have access to a 3D printer or know someone with one. The file is BottomCaseBox_V2_TCboard.stl https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1194140/files

That graph looks really good, PTirmal! What are your settings? How did you light? etc. Looks like you it the plateau at 4:00 MST That's a REALLY NICE Cooking Center you built! I want to do the same with one of my WSM smokers. I'm a Woodworker at heart, but just got side-tracked with metal...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

That got there quick. USPS surprises me. The adapter fit on my Guru adapter, but I have found that there is a bit of difference in OD from batch to batch of those.

    Is my PI dead?

Pi Zero W. Small form factor, cheap, and really good WiFi. It will fit the case.

    Using two fans for heatermeter

What exactly are "higher temperatures"? The Delta fan does well with smoking temperatures on a WSM, but may be limited with higher "grilling" temps. You could use 2 fans, but it would require a larger power supply. What is your current setup? Fan only? Fan/Damper?
