Thinking About Buying BBQ Guru DIGIQ DX2 What's Everyone Think

I've enjoyed my CyberQ for the past year and am just a backyard smoker. It's totally unnecessary as my 18 WSM would lock in for hours with just adjusting the vents, but I do like getting more sleep at night and being able to monitor it away from home. I probably had gone 4-5 yrs without it...

Good Price on used 22.5" WSM?

I'm very excited and thankful for the deal. I'm looking forward to being able to lay some ribs down flat and try a brisket!

Good Price on used 22.5" WSM?

It turns out the 22" WSM was not in "like new" condition. I don't think it had ever been cleaned over the last two years. At first glance it looked like the unit needed three new grates, so they knocked the price down to $150, which I couldn't say no to. The grates are still soaking, but...

    Flameboss - Thoughts?

Does anyone gave any experience with this ATC? How does it compare to say the CyberQ WiFi?

Good Price on used 22.5" WSM?

I'm buying. I think $225 is good and fair for the stated condition. Having recently replaced grates on my 18, I'd rather not do that again. If they're rusted $200 would be ideal.

Good Price on used 22.5" WSM?

How about $225 in NC? I think $200 would be a really good deal. $225 good but not great depending on condition. Just thinking out loud...

Good Price on used 22.5" WSM?

Figured this would be as good of a place to ask as any and I don't mean to stomp on anyone's threads either. What would you consider to be a good price on a gently used 22.5" WSM that is only 2 years old? I've seen used 18's go anywhere from $125-$165 depending on condition, etc. What say...

    Why do ppl Boil Ribs?

Boiled meat is for peasants, lol! I think most people resort to it after unsuccessfully trying to grill ribs and them coming out tough. Those same people often do very little research into the meat they are cooking on what temp to cook the meat too also. A quick Google search can narrow...

*** Ozark Oak Lump Charcoal - Triangle Area, NC ***

Is anyone interested in splitting an order of Ozark Oak Lump Charcoal from Firecraft.com? They sell for $10.95/bag with free shipping over $99, requiring a 10 bag min. I could use 5 bags but do not have space for all 10. Please PM me if interested. This is about the cheapest per lb price I...

    Best Gasket Kit

Forgot to mention...putting the middle grate in at midnight with two 8 lb butts and getting around that compression latch surprised me and was a little tricky.

    Best Gasket Kit

I picked up both the Nomex 22" kit for my 18" WSM and the Unlimited BBQ hinge directly from Island Outdoors website. It was the cheapest total price incl. shipping that I could find. I used warm soapy water (Dawn) and a sponge to go over all areas that were to receive the red food safe...

    High Temp Tape

check your local hardware store for some stainless hole blanks. I think 3/4" work. You could just close the other two vents and plug up the holes not used in the vent with the ATC, then use some of the supplied tape around the installed blower vent on the inside to ensure the air blows...

Need Stoker help - temp spikes

Thanks for the feedback Alex. Have you been able to keep very stable temps with the Stoker? I'm set on an ATC being worth the money to save some sleep and open up my schedule a bit, but reading the stories of large temp swings is what scares me about making the plunge.

Need Stoker help - temp spikes

So I have a 18.5" WSM and am considering either the CyberQ or Stoker. I mostly cook at 225 or 250 and have been able to get great, stable temps with a foiled pan filled with boiling water for several years now. An ATC will help me save some sleep for overnight smokes, plus help free up my day...

    Running Probes thru Vent?

I am curious why more people don't run probe wires thru the vents in the lid? I've always been hesitant to drill any holes and find that doing this works just fine, especially with the longer replacement probes that Maverick sends for the 732.

    Natural Lump Coal or Briquettes?

You should treat yourself to a bag of lump briquettes so you can taste the difference. Unless the cost of fuel tops your list. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Monty House: I've...

    Natural Lump Coal or Briquettes?

I use Stubbs all natural hardwood briquettes from Lowes. It's kind of the best of both worlds. You get the ease and heat consistency of a briquet, but the great taste and flavor of natural hardwood. I've noticed better tasting food and less ash since switching from K blue. Also, I feel it's...
