    Appliance repair

On the bright side it was a pretty good buy. Delivery and removal included under $650 (no it does not connect to my wifi or phone or have a window to view the wash cycle-hopefully it will clean as it has a "deep clean" cycle).

    Appliance repair

I am not a handy homeowner. When our 28 y.o. Maytag washer started leaking, my wife and I went shopping. We narrowed it down to a couple of washers $6-700 or so. Then I got busy on the inter webs. Youtube can be dangerous. It could be this or that. I checked hoses and connections. Determined it...

Explosion in Istanbul, my son was there 20 min. before

You don't know what the future holds. My son walked past the site of the explosion today in Istanbul just before the incident. Enjoy today, we don't know how many we have.

    So, I’ve got gas

OK I'm a heretic. After owning every size Weber charcoal grill, three sizes of WSM, I am down to ONE grill. A natural gas 3-burner Genesis. It is used to grill, smoke and bake. So if you have natural gas, I vote for a gas burner grill. It's good for everything I do. It's not perfect or the best...

Newbie Need Some Advice for Cooking a Pork Shoulder

The scary thing is even tho the recommended temps and times are all over the place...they can all be right! That said I recommend Kevin Krugers Butt Rub for Jane and of course No.5 Sauce. Adding dried cherries and lemon juice are all excellent additions to that sauce. Have fun and relax.

To water pan, clay pot base, sand? What's your pleasure

Old guy here. Used water to start. Switched to sand (not sure why I bought the concept of needing a heat sink). For the longest time, I used two pans with a 1/2" spacer foiled for easy cleanup. A member from S.C. came up with this concept and it worked for me. Was it called a Piedmont Pan ? I...

Wanderlust, Camino De Santiago, Overlanding & Itchy Boots

I'm not sure what it is. In '16 I walked the Camino de Santiago. A few years later and I am infatuated with Overlanding. I couldn't get enough of YouTube videos. Now it's Itchy Boots. What a spectacular tour of southern Africa. Is anyone else addicted to Youtube videos of this ilk?

This week 2000 beagles were rescued. 20 came to Knoxville. They look like terrific hounds. Maybe some came to a rescue near you.

    New Bronco

Any new Bronco owners here who would like to share their ownership experience? I'm a suburban guy not interested in rock climbing or mud slinging but very intrigued with this vehicle.

    Replacing a garage door opener

For those of us who do not do this...any words of wisdom? When I was asked if I wanted a battery backup, I knew openers are now SMART. The thought of needing a battery backup sends chills down my back. I just want to open and close the garage door! Is that asking too much?
