Gander Outdoors 40% off in stores

Gander outdoors is going out of business, and everything in their stores (excluding firearms, ammo, and generators) is 40% off. We went last night and picked up a 12” 8 qt Lodge Dutch oven for $57 out the door. Tim

    Cord Cutters - - - -

Clint, we dropped Hulu for YouTube Tv and love it. The guide is (in our opinion) head and shoulders above Hulu, and for us, YouTube tv was just a better choice. Good luck, let us know what you think if you try the free trial, Tim

    Worth it?

Gwen, congratulations on your decision. I hope yours serves you as well as the WSM has served the rest of us. Welcome to the addiction, you’ll soon be turning out great tasting bbq and will become really popular when it’s time to cook for a get together!! Good luck, Tim

    WSM $50 Burlington NC

I think some of your non profit stores get these and don’t realize what they are. I bought my 22” WSM for $125 from one about 3 years ago. For $50, you could buy a new door, and new grates and still not have much over $100 in the entire thing. Tim

Best source for quality wood chunks?

Kevin, cherry will definitely help achieve the mahogany color you’re trying to achieve on your ribs. As far as when to place the meat on the smoker and when to place the wood on your coals, now you have introduced several different variables into the equation. If you start changing several...

Best source for quality wood chunks?

Bob, I think Kevin is referring to using the 4 fist sized chunks as a way of adding a smoky flavor to the meat, not as the sole means of heat. Also, Kevin, I have read where several have had good luck using Frutia wood chunks as well.. https://fruitawoodchunks.com/ Good luck, Tim

Blue Rhino small cast iron griddle at Lowe's, $10.60 (maybe)

I stopped by the Lowe’s in Salisbury NC, and they had 3 at the $10 price. Like stated above, not sure how much I’m gonna use it, but for only $10, I took one home with me. They also had the $18 skillet for $9. They actually had 6 or 7 skillets at that price. Thanks for the heads up Bob. Tim

Blackstone griddle, or Camp Chef Expedition 3x?

I have decided that the next tool in the arsenal is going to either be a blackstone 28” griddle, or a Camp Chef Expedition 3X. I know A LOT of people bought the blackstone 17” a while back, but I’ve not heard anything about the 28” griddle or the Expedition 3X. This will be used at home, as well...

Kelley, good thought. At 200, it was a really good deal. I tell everybody that is starting or is new at smoking their own bbq that they will never eat bbq at a restaurant again! Tim

Anyone here know anything about sports memorabilia?

Try a local auctioneer. He may be able to combine your father in law’s collection with some other things (that aren’t large enough to auction off by themselves) and have a complete auction. I’ve seen it done countless times wit good results. Good luck, Tim

CharQ vs Lodge cast iron Sportsman grill

Not sure if they still sell it, but I used to coat the grates with oven cleaner and the rusty grates in a plastic garbage bag for a couple days. It always worked like a charm. Tim

How about a wifi/bluetooth controlled, charcoal gravity grill?

Phil, I agree, but in no way are they marketing this for the smoking enthusiast that believes half the fun is the journey, not just the destination. Their market is the tech savvy “I can’t live without staring into the warm glow of burning data (their phone) every 30 seconds. Tim
